So...
I've been legal since Sunday morning & I've done 222kms about 138 miles in 3 days bringing my mileage up to 666 kilometres. It's run in at 1000kms.
To say I'm loving it is a massive understatement, I did 99kms on Sunday just following my front wheel taking the easiest/safest routes but the bike just fits me so I've been happy to just go anywhere now & have even been over Coventry in heavy 3 lane traffic with motors passing either side of me, I have to admit to my star fish tightening the first time a car shot past my inside. :o
I forgot how cool it is to just wander passed traffic & not be held up by anything other than the odd red light & even then you roll to the front of the Q. The bike gets untold attention I've even had old Grannys stop & comment. :p
I'd say to anyone thinking of getting a bike just go for it, For me it's so much better than when I was young as nowadays the roads are rammed & the cost of motoring has got ridiculous, Worth noting I did 187 kms for 10 quid & my tax is 15 quid a year, My Insurance Fully comp with added extra cover is 199 quid a year, Add on the fun factor & the weather we are getting & it's a no brainer.

It's an AJS 125 DD Eos, So ride able on a CBT. It is actually sold with a 350cc engine or the 125cc so is a full size bike it's about 8ft long, The idea is to buy it as a 125 then get used to it then upgrade it to the 350cc when it suits, The conversion that AJS sell/install is recognised by the Insurers etc.
They do the Eos the Bobber & the Daytona, AJS have been importing bikes for the last 5 years & are the best of the Chinese bikes although the name AJS goes back to around 1903.
Engine wise it's a 4 stroke water cooled twin cylinder, As for build quality that goes down to the dealer they were originally put together by so be prepared to go over the bike & tweak & fettle it.
My bike is 11 months old & had 444kms on it & I've done 222 in the last 3 days, I am still running it in so can't thrash the knackers off it yet but it sits at 60mph no prob which keeps me ahead of the lorrys on the A roads that I am restricted to.

On a side note I have made contact with some Dude down in Kent an Engineer who has fitted a GP550z engine in his & he has priced up a full conversion as well at a fair rate.
Being honest though I don't want to go any faster than i am doing at the mo as i am enjoying the safety/security/cheapness of the 125., Sure that'll change in just a few months but it's a nice instant cheap way in with a Brilliant upgrade options.

That's enough chat I am off out, CYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. :D

I used to think my 125 was the best thing in the entire world, for about 6 weeks.

I passed my test 3 days after my 17th birthday and bought a 125 just to get used to something other than the ped, but even after derestricting it, it wasnt enough, just knowing I could afford and ride something so much faster made me very frustrated.
So it was gone after 6 months and a whole host of mental 2 strokes followed.

Mileage is over 1765Kms now, Went for a ride out over to Derby today & all told I must have spent 4 hours with a good break/visit in the middle of it.
I don't mind admitting that on the way home cruising in this weather I literally shouted out "This is ******* Awesome" :o + :p
I came back to this thread to check the date I got it & it was April 5th so I've had it a little over 2 months & still loving every single second of it. I've even laid on the grass next to it after a clean & found myself just gazing at it for 20 minutes or so.
It's not using any oil or water & even after a 2 hour thrash when I pull back in my yard the cooling fan only comes on for maybe 10-20 seconds so I know I'm not killing it. (Yet)
I'll finish off with repeating myself from an earlier post, If anybody is thinking about getting a bike then Just Do it, I really cannot recommend it enough, Cheap insurance Cheap tax 180kms'ish for a tenner, Total Freedom & Traffic becomes irrelevant.

That is really nice, not my sort of bike ( I have a yzf r-125) until you said I had no idea it was a 125 looks like a much bigger bike. Glad your enjoying it, best thing I ever did was to get rid of my car and get the bike, so much cheaper and no sitting in traffic :D

Cheers mate, I stopped to help a biker who had broken down today, I said Am I on the right road for Derby, He said Yes but you can get to the M1 down there, I got the usual response when I told him it's a 125 **** Off !!! :p

Just some pics I took whilst out today looking for a decent back drop.

Only took with my Desire but I'm happy with them, Showing 2000Kms now & still loving every second of it.

Big bump...

How is the bike going OP? Assuming you still have it.

I quite fancy a cruiser for my first bike but would want a bigger engine (I have full licence.)

Did me sweet for 13 months and was sold in the same condition I got it which was immaculate, never let me down was thrashed everywhere and the chrome was as shiny the last day as it was the first.
As for now I have a 97 Honda VFR750V-F the last of the carb one. Loads of smooth power and a nice full fairing to hide behind.
