New Tyres needed

It's £18! Percentage is irrelevent when the differential is so little. You would not buy one chocolate bar instead of another on price alone if one was 100% more expensive if in reality one was 15p and the other was 30p, would you?

£18 per tyre and unless he does high mileage he wont need to buy any more tyres for several years.

Well, its not £18...real figure at Blackcircles.com.

Hankook V12 Evo

Continental CS3

Difference is £164.72

I can afford it, but whether I am convinced it is worth £16o of difference...judging from reviews and what i have read online, i am not so sure.

The difference between CS3 and T1-R at the retailer which offers the most competitive price is £18.

The fact you've found them more expensive somewhere else doesn't really say much.

Delivery is £5, fitting at a local tyre place is £10 each. The differential after fitting and delivery remains £18 per tyre.

Please provide links to prove the cheaper tyres are just as good.

If you read my previous posts this is purely from my own experience of the 2 tyres on a small hatchback. :)

Unless you want me to provide you links from sources which are also peoples opinions. Do you want me to provide you with scientific evidence of why they are comparable?

We've learnt that when it comes to tyres individuals opinions mean very little, I can attest to this since I was convinced by many that the FK452 was just as good as the highend stuff, I now know this is rubbish, people try to justify a poorer product or bad purchase.

So with this in mind an independent tyre review is what I'm after something done by a magazine or trusted source.

Ordered - doing all 4 at once. According to reviews these are just as good and a saving of £140.

Your Order summary
Product Total
Total Cost £389.60
4 x Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 - 205/45 R17 W (88) £389.60
Hereford Autocare Ltd - Premier Partner Friday 17 June PM All Inclusive

Anyone wanna buy a 6mm Pirreli P Zero and a Conti CS2 (i think), both at 6mm? lol I don't live in london so it might be hard to shift these locally.

It's not a saving of £140 at all, I showed you CS3's for £98 each, so £397 delivered, with £40 to fit them, so £437 for a set of high quality, credible, performance tyres.

You've saved a whole £40 by going for some Hankooks instead - barely £10 a tyre.

Just don't get it personally.

I have the Hankooks on the rear wheels of my 200. They cope perfectly fine with the power fed through them (and the stopping power from my uprated brakes) and I don't treat them overly kindly..

I am never home to receive them, and can't exactly send them to work.

I send all mine to work :D Motorbike and car.

I've got some Hankooks on my car now, but only because that's what they use in the race series so I figured I'd start getting used to them. I don't see it being worth it for the sake of £10 a corner though.

And how do you expect me to get 4 tyres home on the train in rush hour? Lol

I use the same tyre sizes on the celica, the pirelli p-zero assymetricos that came on the car were frankly awesome but are no longer made and the suggested replacement was a £200/corner P-Zero Nero...

I opted for the Toyo's last time around to give them a try having been told good things by 2 separate garages, the grip is alright but they are probably only 2/3 as good as the assymetricos, they have a soft sidewall and its made a big difference to the handling

My car will likely be slightly heavier than your yaris meaning they have to work a little harder in breaking and cornering but aside from that there isnt a huge difference in performance at 8.7/140 to your 9/133

Next time around im getting CS3's and hoping they are more comparible to the originals

Which reviws of the Ventus V12 evo have you read? Most seem to be for the Ventus S1 evo, which isn't the same tyre.

Also, did you think about having those tyres delivered to... I dunno... the place that's going to fit them? :p

So against a collection of non-maximum performance tyres that included the infamous Ling Longs, they did well, though still didn't manage to beat the "Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec" (what the @ name). To give you an idea of how much better they are, the CS3s outperform the benchmark tyre C&D used - the PS2. All for a saving of £13 a year? :p
