Same here, for the price of this I can get a rift s and some heuskelveld pedals.I might have jumped on board this if it had been priced at £750 but it's too expensive for me at £919.

Yes but lack of availability and i still play a lot of none sim games so wanted the better tracking and controllers of the rift s. Might pick one up in a few months depending on the reviews for my cockpit based games.Good plan. Did you consider the Reverb at all?

Looks like their concentrating on hololens 2 rather than wmr.Based on my experience I wouldn't recommend a Windows reality mixed headset to anyone. The game support is a bit patchy and the software janky. Maybe ok if you can get one cheaply but you'd be mental to spend HP Reverb money on one IMO.
I can't help but wonder if Microsoft will ditch it in the near future as they really don't seem to be putting much effort into supporting the platform anymore.
It uses the same lenses as the vive/vive pro! Not sure what valve were thinking when they decided that was a good idea.Reading through the initial previews, it's looking good.

According to the tested video.I thought it used new stacked lenses, not the same ones as the Vive, is that not the case?

Uploadvr journalist took several headsets for his family to try for the weekend. Out of the S, index, reverb and quest the Index became commonly known as 'the expensive one'.
Sobering review:/ Worse stereo overlap (@5:28 ), sweetspot like on the original Vive, prominant godrays, generally "meh" optics (@11:05 ).

Other vr sites are reporting much more positively about the lenses. https://uploadvr.com/valve-index-hardware-preview/Sobering review:/ Worse stereo overlap (@5:28 ), sweetspot like on the original Vive, prominant godrays, generally "meh" optics (@11:05 ).
