New WoW Expansion

wow is dying from the start of its release

How do you work that one out? I don't think they started with 8-9 millions subs now did they. Clearly the game is getting bigger and nobody can deny that until the subs stop rising.

As for the expansion, I prised myself away from WoW about 2 months ago and haven't looked back. Looks to be some insteresting stuff planned but not enough to go back.

I'd play it if I could cheat and one shot the bosses or something, just to experience the encounters. I'll just have to settle for Nihilum's videos I guess :p

I really dont see how people complain about the rep grind to be honest.

You can reach Honoured with Violet Eye after doing Karahzan twice. 2 times.

Also, rep grind to get into heroics? Of course. A, you need to be level 70 and we can assume you're going to do each dungeon more than once between 60 and 70, and B, you need decent gear. Nobody gears up doing each dungeon once. It doesnt work like that.

Trouble is you all want the best rewards for the least effort, whch is why you fail at long term games. Stick to Counter Strike, you only have to click once to kill someone.

I didn't say that, however 15 buffs for Naxxramas bosses started to tedious after a bit and so does reputation grinding to get in instances.

Stupid comment.

It just got to the stage of same old. I still play wow, but it takes about 1 hr before i just log out due to boredom. I get this urge to play, its like a reminder of how good wow was, but once im playing its back to reality on how little interest I have in the game.

Yeah I used to get that. It was more the urge to log in and talk to the people in my guild. I loved the social aspect of the game. Most of them quit though so that factor disappeared and I just quit altogether :p

A good friend of mine is hopelessly addicted; constantly raiding with his weirdy online guild chums or endlessly grinding for rep or "mats". He literally spends all of his free time in front of the computer these days.

It may sound melodramatic, but I kind of miss him, or more accurately, the old him. He's become completely asocial and has almost entirely ostracised himself for our circle of friends. The arrival of another addon will surely serve only to increase his addiction and shunning of the outside world. Yeah, I know he has to take responsibility for his own behaviour, but he used to be such an outgoing guy before WoW arrived in his life. Damn you, Blizz!

I used to get that with DAoC, the pvp of that kept me coming back time and again... in a way I am glad the EU servers died... although I do have a L50 on the US servers... :o

I am weak....

If i'm totally honest with you, i fail to see how that isn't exactly what you're saying. The rewards of the game were at the end of Naxx or in the Heroic instances... but you got bored of doing it, and gave up. You got bored of putting effort into getting the rewards so you quit. Which is pretty much what i said.

I'm not looking for an argument but it's hardly a stupid comment when it's spot on.

They put a limit on the amount of times you can down a boss each week, I hardy see why they insisted on you spending the rest of the week farming to get the herbs ect, to be able to afford/make the pots you needed to down a boss.
before Tbc a lot of ppl were comfortable just farming dkp in all the raid isntancecs and turning up just for the raids, I think nax prob chaged all that, only the hardcore were bothered with it, the rest patiently waited for TBC and didnt regret missing nax one bit.

I played WoW in beta, then the full game for 18 months. Quit for a few, then went back again.

Now i'm about to notch my first level 70 character. It's alright actually, but I don't think i'll stay. Not keen on the Hunter class anymore, there are so many stupid bugs and changes since I raided with it.

Given the amount of time put into the game I never got further than MC, and that really annoys me sometimes. And now I doubt i'll ever see the raid content in TBC as i've been left behind, and by the time I catch up and/or level on a new server, WotLK will be right around the corner and nobody will want to raid.

I really hate the way Blizzard have gone about this game. They care so little about making the game good, it's all about greed, how much cash they can tell their shareholders they've pocketed.

I quit because the game dragged on and barely evolved from what it was when I first started playing over a year before.

I got to Kel'thuzad and never bothered trying him because it was more of the same boring crap. (Except this time you needed 10 potions per try, yay)

I hardcore raided Molten Core, BWL, AQ40 from start to finish and nearly Naxx from start to finish. (Downed 4HM then got bored)

Nothing to do with effort, it's just generally a very dull game after a while, killing the boss first can sometimes be fun, then after that it's just tedious.

The game was 10x better when it was just MC/BWL/AQ40/20 and Zul'Gurub, even though it was the same bosses I actually enjoyed them instances, especially late night runs where wiping wasn't taken so serious as it was in Naxx. (Granted I did enjoy Naxx but needing so many potions per attempt on certain bosses REALLY killed it and got boring)

I gave TBC a go with some friends and it was the same, leveling was enjoyable but when the server had evolved a fair bit that guilds were raiding properly and I had tried numerous heroics and other instances I just got bored again because it was more of the same.

I (guild) still killed nearly every boss before you, PEWPEW! (yes we were on same server)

:p

TBC definetly killed WoW, i used to raid Naxx 3 times a week which was manageable for me and wasnt too much, i could farm a few pots, wipe money but then burning crusade came and my guild upped its game to 4-5 days a week and so did a few others, now that not only put me off but it put many other people off, i tried to pvp, level a new character but it just seemed all the same, i am quitting it untill this new expansion comes out.

But if i like Warcraft online before then i will definetly start warcraft online, seems to be pretty good from the reviews, i just hope for heavens sake it is good.
