New WoW Expansion

I hope Blizzard focus more on PvP in the future. This is what the majority of the community wants, we've already seen with arena that WoW PvP has massive potential, there's sponsored teams and competitions, people are literally making a living out of playing arena. If only they'd focus on PvP more it'd reach it's potential.

It still baffles me why they spend all this time developing these insane PvE instances like Mount Hyjal and Black Temple when only a tiny proportion of the overall playerbase get to experience it. Plus PvE is boring as hell...and gay :p

The problem with the game for me is that it is not designed for anyone with a family, I have a wife and daughter so I can't sit down at 6pm everynight to raid.

I have never been to MC, BWL or AQ and I have only been to Karazhan once.

Now I pay the same money as everyone else but haven't expierienced x amount of the game. I have a couple of friends that are in the same boat too.

That's not true at all. My guild raids one night a week, as did my previous one, and a lot of others on my server. It's much easier in BC to get into raids than it was before, because you only need 9 other like-minded people, not 39.

So, he says he cant raid on a night time... hes right :P lol

pfft pvp sucks ass in wow, arenas are fun for about 10 mins, i have a 1900 ranking and loads of arena point but theres nowt i want. dulllll . PVE is the most fun and challenging get on with your mates and go try to kill big things and have a laugh. admittedly its harder to get in a decent raiding guild. especially if all you have is PVP epics.... not really any challenge unless your right at the top and get paid. and thats a certainly a far smaller percentage than get to see BT or hyjal.

Pffft, no wai. Once you have beaten an instance you just do the same over and over, and you can just read the boss tactics from various websites...etc

With PvP you have to constantly adapt, when a team changes their strategy you have to change yours to counter it. It's far more challenging than PvE. When you're playing in the high ratings (2100+) it's extremely challenging and it's great when you beat a decent team and move up the rankings.

If PvP is no challenge why are you only at 1900 rating? :p

I would say the game has become too inflexible. You need several hours to take part in a raid. I give up as i dont have the time anymore.

I'm really tempted to go back to WoW now. Currently playing EQ2 but I played WoW for ages and have a 70 Wiz and 63 Priest. I raided a lot and me and Cliff were raid leaders and First officers in a guild which was a lot of fun. We raided a lot, 3-5 times a week but we made the start times 7pm gmt (benefits of being raid leader ;) ) so the kids were in bed before we got going.

I miss playing WoW, made some friends there and I felt comfortable there.

When's the expansion out btw?

They haven't said yet as far as I'm aware, I'm not expecting it out till the middle of next year.

Jokester

Hmm ok, I'm quite tempted by that actually. I think I'll probably get the expansion and see how it goes. I love grinding and have loads of money on my wiz, easy to get money and level at the same time.

And you don't regret it?

I can't believe people spend so much time playing these games. I'd rather go out with friends than waste my life being some godlike character in a videogame.

You have 2800 posts on a computer/techy forum. I'm sure there's plenty of people who'd say they'd rather go out with friends than spend time talking to strangers about 'nerdy stuff' on some internet forum.

In other words - each to their own. He may have clocked up 200 hours on WoW, but for all you know he could have a better social life than you :p

And you didn't need serveral hours for a raid before? I've never come across a guild who would spend less than 2 hours in a raid.

Jodie - wiz? :p

Well Warcraft is far, far, far more time consuming that getting 2800 posts on this forum. :)

Say for example you did 7 hours straight of raiding (Which I used to do a lot :o) you could probably gather up about 1000 or more posts on this forum in that time.

Baring in mind one raid just scratches the surface of how much time the game consumes when it comes to getting new items, (Purples omg :p), XP, reputation and what not.

Anyway, World Of Warcraft without the expansions back in early 2006 was far better, the game just plain sucks now compared to the 'old' days and this new expansion is just milking it more and in general making it a worse game.

I hope Blizzard focus more on PvP in the future.

Several problems with this:

1. Blizzard have shown themselves wholly incapable of developing enjoyable and balanced PvP. If you want 'proper' pvp, play an fps where skill calls the shots rather than whether you're a fotm class.

2. The head design people are ex-EQ hardcore raiders and this is where their interests lie.

3. Karazhan is vastly popular, belying your statements on PvE.

Certainly they need another DECENT battleground or two, but for a lot of people, their 10 arena games a week are just a distraction from their dailes, 5 man runs and standing around in IF chatting to guild mates.

I have to admit, I'd like to see a lot more 10 man content. Zul Aman should be good and at the moment I really enjoy Karazhan.

It's gonna be frustrating that my gear becomes useless at level 71 but if I have a decent set of gear by the time it's release (got 2 bits of tier 4 now) then hopefully it will last me to 80 like tier 2/3 did to 70.

WoW stoppped being fun at Naxx i agree. Black Wing Lair was the funnest time i ever had in Wow and possible in online gaming. My guild was going so strong and was such fun i doubt i will forget it.

Being the third hunter on our server with Full Dragstalker and AQ40 gear too!.

But no i wont even be buying the expansion, and as people have said, once TBC came out WoW died.

Yeah same, especially after we finished BWL so alts got to go, I got my Warrior some nifty gear for a 'alt'. :D

Dicking around in BWL was great fun too, late night runs...etc Zul'Gurub was good fun as well.

I honestly fail to see how this is even remotely correct. I play pretty much only PVP, and quite frankly, it's almost balanced to perfection.

If your idea of "balance" is to have every class capable of standing up to every other class, then of course you are going to be dissapointed. If you want to go 1 on 1 with every class and win, then of course you will be dissapointed.

What would be the point in having different spells, different attacks, different classes, if everyone was to be the same? Every class has it's unbeatable opponent. As a warrior, in PVP, I struggle to beat decent warlocks. And i accept that. What would be the point in playing if i could beat everyone? That's why Arena's are 2v2, not 1v1. If im against a warlock, i need help to beat him. Warrior Paladin combo's are frightening. Warlock Priest combo's are frightening.

Wow is a social game. The idea is that you team up (in both PVE and PVP) to complement each other. If you are two warriors, then you should expect to get owned by a warlock with a healer. If you run around by yourself, then certain classes WILL kill you. There is not one single class in the game that is "imba" or "overpowered".

If you want the kind of balance you are talking about, go and play on a CSS knife only server. Or maybe some Starcraft UMS Zergling maps. Or possibly some Mirror Matches in the old Mortal Kombat.

Still playing and raiding 3/4 times a week, I play a Blood Elf Paladin on Emerald Dream, We killed Vashj last week, such a rush :D

Got 3 70's, and my Hunter just dinged 68 last night, I'm loving it.
