New Xonar drivers for D1 / D2 / DX / D2X

I installed this and i do not know what have changed as i didn't have any problems with previous driver either :D

1 thing i notice that there's Xonar Essence STX menu as well as Xonar D2X on the start menu

Just wondering, is this file including the patch file for Red Alert 3?

Patch file for Red Albert 3
1. The Red Alert 3 uses a legacy 5.1-channel mask scheme and does not support the new 5.1-channel mask scheme that was defined by Microsoft since Windows Vista and matches Dolby and DTS 5.1 surround sounds, which Xonar drivers followed as a default setting. To solve the compatibility issue with Red Alert 3, the patch file is to change the default channel mask scheme of Xonar drivers to make Red Alert 3 work normally on Xonar audio cards. Xonar drivers actually support both schemes and most games could support the new scheme or either one and have no problems on Xonar.

Noted: 1. Install this patch after installing driver.
2. Under XP32/Vista32, Please execute CmAux.exe; Under Xp64/Vista64, Please execute CmAux64.exe
3. Please reboot your system after installing OK.

I don't notice any issue when plying Red Alert 3?

I would be nice to be able to change the Audio channel and Sample rate settings by right clicking on the system tray icon

btw

there's no use in suggestion additions, all i did was copy sections from inf and ini files from the older drivers into these :)

Which drivers should I use for Win7 x64, as Audio Centre doesn't seem to want to work?

I have not noticed any bugs in the Asus stock drivers (latest release) - should I still install these!

Vista64 btw!

I don't use Flexibass or anything, I run a neutral out to my NAD :o

Installed em last night ¬_¬

No problems!

I don't use GX3D though as FRAPS does not capture audio in games with it on.

Erm no... I record at 60fps.

When Fraps is idle there is no fps drop because it's not recording, only screenshotting which has no fps drop.

Also these new drivers improved sound quality a bit for anyone else? swear the output is slightly more detailed than before with these...

These break Compatibility mode in Vista, but are otherwise fine, any chance for a modded version of the new HDAV driver? Grrr Asus **** me off for releasing separate drivers.
