Newcastle

You will have no problems.

The quayside is a nice area with nice properties and within stumbling distance of some of Newcastle's best bars, clubs and restaurants. Lovely coastline is 10 or so miles away as is fantastic scenery in rural Northumberland.

still where all the escorts are though :P

if your neighbours get a lot of male guests you know why :D

i'd love to know what type of job you're doing, as their arent many jobs to go around up here, yet we have a southerner coming up taking a job, renting a appartment on the quayside

Theres loads of jobs up here. Depends what industry you work in.

youve said longbenton and quayside ? which is it ?

OP is Working in, and living in. In that order.

Living quayside and working longbenton,

He is contracted up here working in civ building there, Don't really see the problem tbh.

It's a temp position also otherwise the move would be permanent, why would you bother going through interviews etc for something that is temp and they have staff else where who can move for a short period of time?

Ah, The Rupali.

It was a sad day when Abdul Latif, the Lord of Harpole, passed on. He was such a popular fella with Geordies who knew him and who were regulars in his restaurant.

I remember the restaurant getting numerous free ads in the Viz and the health warning on the Curry Hell always made me chuckle.

' The Rupali cannot be held responsible if your ****hole falls out of your trousers as a result of eating a Curry Hell. '

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abdul_Latif_(restaurateur)

Ive have a Phall delivered evey week, for years here in Folkestone, no problem. Yet i failed 3 times to eat curry hell, but "ill be back" ;)

any recommendations for a curry house? i love my rubys :)

Ocean road in South Shields probably has the highest concentration of Indian restaurants in the North East, about 5 mins walk when you get off the metro. I'm not a fan of The Rupali in the Bigg Market, I prefer The Golden Bengal over the road.

As already said, you will love it up here. Nothing else to really post now as most people have said everything.

Although someone mentioned the quayside not being as big as what it was, I dont know how big it was but it still does have some good bars down there depending on what type of music you listen too. Im only 20 so listen to all the dance music etc but chase, The quilted camel and Bar 38 are all good and fairly cheap too!!

All I can really say is, enjoy. Im sure you will have a lovely time!!

Sad to see nobody has suggested any of the Ouseburn pubs yet. Best place for real bear and good music. The Tyne Bar is probably my favourite pub in town and can get packed out on a sunny weekend.

As for good food, the best restaurants are;

Pan Haggerty http://www.panhaggerty.com/
Black Friars http://www.blackfriarsrestaurant.co.uk/
Food Social (Or whatever they renamed it to, used to be Blackdoor) http://www.foodsocial.co.uk/
Red Mezze http://www.restaurantturkish.co.uk/
Sachins http://www.sachins.co.uk/

Oh, and living on the Quayside... you'll love it! It live just along from the quayside and can see the millennium bridge out of my living room window. Great place to live, and generally the city is great too. :)

Indeed. Some very nice flats on the Gateshead side near the Sage.... they get A LOT of visitors.

Yeah, Baltic Quays are renowned for 'working ladies'. Found out from the taxi driver the other day that the block of flats next to us are also used to make porn films, as he's always driving the models from the station down there, lol.

If you like sea food check out the big muscle on teh quay side, they have live music most nights and an awesome selection of fresh fish. Alright prices to :)

I prefer The Cluny, as it comes into on it's own on a sunny day with the grass bank outside. Ouseburn Valley is great though, can't believe I missed it off my original suggestions. :o
