Next generation nvidia graphic cards ...where are they?

As Kaapstad pointed out to me in another thread, Nvidia are constantly selling out of 1080 Ti's, Titan Xp's, Titan Star Wars Editions on their webstore, At the moment they don't need to come out with anything, Although I'd love to get my hands on a 1080 Ti FE, Nigh impossible to get.

Being fair to them they do actually continue to develop and release when there has been not real need for any of these recent cards competition wise. Still expecting something new this half, what that will be we will see in time... Wallet ready ;)

To be honest consoles slows down progress, also AMD cant compete so it will be a while until wee see a real break trough in GPU segment.

looks like they are trickling out something like a 1050ti max-q to counter AMD getting Vega on the ultralight platform in conjunction with Intel.

Get used to it, all you people that crave innovation so that you can not buy it but possibly get a bit of a discount on your green hit. You are beginning to reap what you have sown.

Probably gonna sell off my 1080Ti and stick with the 980Ti, don't need the extra power yet. I'll get the next high end Ti maybe.

Yeah consoles slow progress a bit, i still have a soft spot for the portable Nintendo systems though.

Anyone who thinks NV isn't going to launch cards this year is deluded on a lot of levels to say the very least. I suppose that's why they're the ones making a lot of money, and majority of us aren't lol :D. Can't honestly see why anyone would think that purely on the basis current cards are selling well.

Let’s hope so, sold lots of old kit so the fund is ready to upgrade ;)

Definitely see new NVidia cards this year.

Even if someone is happy with their current level of GPU performance, when NVidia do launch a new range of cards the upgrade urge will generate a lot of new sales for the company.

I've just gone from 2500k to 8700k and sadly, all it has done is show that my 980Ti is struggling a little more than I thought. I like Skyrim to be very modded, and I like ME:A to be on high settings; those coupled with 3440x1440 has just highlighted that the 980ti is getting on a bit. It's nice to see that a 1080Ti could improve FPS by about 40-50% but at the current price, it's not a big enough difference.

Really hoping 1180Ti/2080Ti isn't a year away, but I'm not holding my breath.

New cards for sure like a Pascal refresh, a new architecture for consumers Volta/Ampere outside of Titians no not really, not when Nvidia's only "threat" is a Vega die shrink at the end of the year..... at best.

There will be a new architecture this year, not because it is needed but as an opportunity for NVidia to move users off their existing Pascal cards and generate sales in the progress.

How else will they get my money? I still have my £599 zotac 1080 and it is immaculate. But it struggles at 240hz and 4k normally i spend this every two years so unless pascal can double my fps this year they have to launch volta to get my money. If they do not in 2018 they lose money on me. But if people did a 1080-1080ti upgrade i may be irrelevant and we may not see volta until almost xmas 2018.

We may have a 12 month gap...

Its quite ****ing simple really - how capatalism works is - stop ****ing buying new graphics cards, then they will take notice really REALLY quickly - & make something worthy, for a reasonable price..............however trying to tell a computer forum to be patient is near impossible.

Been waiting patiently for 4 years. I have been bored of the new gfx cards so lost my itch.

That may work for gamers but won’t deter miners.
