Next workhorse, let's not make it a Passat

Drove a 320D M Sport Manual Saloon.

Nice car - it went well enough - quicker than the Passat but in true BMW style felt slower than it, engine felt very un-diesel like - smooth, ultra quiet, impressive handling and the car sat up well round the bends. Boot space just about passable. Gear change didn't like to be rushed, that I think would be my only real complaint (BMW gear changes are just eeuuuuww compared to most Jap machinery).

Legacy next.

I wonder if the new mazda 2.2 diesels are any good...they should be out soon with the top one putting out 185 bhp

would be interesting to see if they drop the same engine into the new mazda 3

Just had the quote through from BMW, they want £30,155.01 OTR for a brand new one (320D M) with full leather & no sat nav.

**** me.

BMW are currently offering complimentary leather on 325 and above. This means that for £30,825 (ie, not that much more than the 320d) you can have a 325d M Sport with full leather. The 325d is basically the same engine size and power as the old 330d.

Alternatively, buy a 6 month old 320d M Sport 'Edition'. The 'Edition' special edition models had leather, nice wheels and satnav as standard.

That's nice, but we still have the problem that it's THIRTY FRIGGIN GRAND.

:p

No, buying & financing over 4 yrs was the plan. Lease is putting me off as if I need to change it in 12 months or whatever I'm screwed, you can't give them back under lease whereas you can easily part ex under finance.

When did they start the ED on the 3 series? I wonder if I could as you say go for something 6 months old with the ED so I get A) big price saving whilst B) still benefiting from the low CO2.
