The problem here is twofold, no matter when you buy there is something better just around the corner.

Question being is the quad even going to be utilised enough?

My xoom2 runs sweet as a nut, this is more powerful with newer os... I can't fault a purchase.

I know something is always around the corner... i've been into tech at th bleeding edge for almost two decades now, so nothing surprises me. However a brand new SOC will not be replaced for around 2 years, so early adopters, and especially with Android/Apple gear, are vulnerable to the early refreshes when a new platform hits, and long experience has taught me to do my best to try and avoid that when possible.

Not surprised that the 16GB isn't sold out, for a tablet focused on HD content 16GB was never enough.

Has always been enough for me.

But I use serviio etc to play most stuff from my PC and if I run out of space I can just plug in a usb disk.
 
Unless you load it up with movies, 16GB will always be enough.

Well yes I intend to use it for more than just browsing with such a high res screen. Along with games over 1GB and a few HD movies/ TV shows I would easily fill up 16GB. I will be using mine on my commute to work on the Tube so connecting to the PC isn't an option :p.

You're going to be waiting a long time if the nexus 7 refund process is anything to go by. It took me over 2 months before google finally refunded my money and I wasn't the only one who had to wait that long.

I tried to cancel my extra 2 but just got an automated email telling me cannot cancel if an hour has passed after ordering.
Santander would not do anything as although payment would not leave my account till despatch time, it had been authorised, so refusing delivery seemed to be the only option.
Decided to give it another go this afternoon, rang google helpline and got a very helpful yank who sympathised and although it took about 45mins he got the 2 unwanted tablets cancelled for me.
