*** Nexus 10 Tablet ***

Yes, the speakers facing the front is a major thing for me as my TF201 has the speakers on the back which is pointless.

The Prime's SINGLE speaker was indeed crap, poor placement and low volume.

How would 720p content look on this compared to an x768 10" tablet now?
The same, or stretched?
720p on any 10inch 16:10 tab will looks the same - vid will be shown as 16:9 without stretching, no matter the res.

It should look the same.
I don't understand how though?
I mean, I'm all up with PC hardware, monitor tech's etc.

But 480p content on a CRT (Normal SD TV) looks fine, on a PC it looks bloody awful when full screened, I can't sit through DVD's on my PC because I find it abysmal, or is that just because it's a CRT and completely different :p?

I also assume it's just an LCD screen, not SAMOLED?
Some sites are saying LCD, some AMOLED. But I think it's LCD. In most of the pictures showing the tablet switched on the button bar at the bottom of the screen looks a few shades brighter than the black bezel below it, whch suggests a backlit display. On a SAMOLED screen the bar would be pure black.

720p on a 10" tablet will look exactly the same on this one because 2560x1600 is exactly 4x "720p".

4 pixels on this tablet (2x2) will be the same size as a single pixel on 1280x800 10" tablets, so it'll look exactly the same because the pixels will effectively be the same size.

Also when the screen is that pixel dense and that small you won't be able to see much if any degradation of 720p content. Upside is you could see a nice boost in good bitrate high quality 1080p content.

I really need to see it to believe it, I keep thinking it'll just throw an algorithm in to compensate and end up not looking so good.

Although have no reason to doubt you.

There's absolutely no reason to. It's simply pixel doubling.

One pixel in a 720p video will be displayed across 4x pixels (in a 2x2 grid) on a 2560 display.

Think of graph paper, a 10" 1280x800 display would have squares that are 1cm*1cm and a 2560x1600 display would have squares that were 0.5cm*0.5cm.

If you coloured one square on the 1280x800 one red, and 4 squares on the 2560x1600 one red, they'd both take up the same amount of space and look the same.

The current Android phones and devices are really showing Apple for their lazy releases of late.

Of late?

It's made me want even more.
It's nearly everything I've been waiting for in a tablet.

The lack of SD slot is pretty annoying but then I can always use a USB drive with an OTG cable for any content I would want on it.

Ideally I would have liked it to have a 3G option too, maybe it will do since the Nexus 7 has just got it.

I'll will get it. The specs alone means that it'll wee on my iPad3 and I tend to use the device for Netflix, Browsing, Emails mostly rather than gaming. I am a bit annoyed about no 3G options (no don't mention hotspot) on the thing but I guess that is down to keeping the overall price low.

No what to do with my iPad 3...

Probably longer than that :P

I have a Mifi to avoid having to get a 3G option

I’ll be keeping mine because of Sky and the number of quality apps which just aren't available on Android.
