Should never base a decision on one review. Many tech journalists are Apple cultists (especially Engadget) and often deride rivals to Apple.
 
Seem plenty of reviews that say battery life is about 8 hours for movie playback. More important will be charge time if it charges faster that the iPad then it's not a problem.

Most of these reviewers are in the pockets of the manufactures. Never trust them and take their info with a huge pinch of salt. The only accurate information is the specification.
 
I think I'd have it plugged in if I'm watching a Movie-Marathon anyway!!

1 maybe 2 movies or a couple of eps of a TV series maybe, but 8+ hours I think I'd plug it in! :)

These movie playback 'tests' are usually very inaccurate and shouldn't be used for real world usage comparisons (all of them will have similar usage scenarios)

...but the iPad 4 has a 28% larger battery if that's your priority.
 
Will there be any cases available on day 1?

I've sold my TF101 for £150 so I will be ordering one come Tuesday :D

And with that 28% bigger battery it will also imo have a much longer charge time.
 
Reviews saying the ipad screen shows more detail in movies than the nexus 10?

Not sure if that can be accurate, but is it really possible to see the difference in those resolutions with both having such high DPI?

The problem with a lot of reviews is that plenty of times subconsciously or otherwise reviewers have investment in one platform or the other. If someone uses an ipad every day of their lives and are asked to review an android tablet they are not going to understand or even like some of the features or workings, the same is true the other way round.

Either way, any such comparison is meaningless to me as I'm not going to buy an iPad anyway.

Is it possible that the movie playback time disparity between the iPad and the Nexus is down to the Nexus' higher resolution?
 
It probably has something to do with reviews saying the N10's contrast isn't as good as the ipads, however it's pretty simple to calibrate an android device so I would expect once it is calibrated the N10 would be much better.

So would have had one if it was SAMOLED (7.7 would have been swiftly sold!), but nope.

I just cannot go back to any LCD tech after having my S2 and 7.7, even my calibrated IPS monitor and plasma telly lack the uber blacks I crave.

I can't wait for SAMOLED monitors and tvs, even though they are going to be mega expensive.
