*** Nexus 10 Tablet ***

The current N10 was released in November so based on a normal 1 year replacement cycle I'd think a new one will be out Nov/Dec time, certainly before Christmas.

Been testing idle usage since CM10.2. Very little usage (50mins screen on time but wifi on the whole time) but 17 days and down to 50%. Happy with that.

What's the process to update my tablet? Its been rooted and I have superSU installed. Will I need to root it again after updating? Hope not because I have no idea how I did it in the first place XD

Sorry to quote myself, but I've had a poke around the net and found various contradicting answers, and even people saying that it isn't worth updating because it makes performance worse? Help!

How did you root it? Do you have a custom recovery installed? And yes, it will remove root but if you have a custom recovery then it's easy to get back.

I followed this guide using Wug's nexus root toolkit. Though I'm pretty sure I did this before formatting my PC and I don't know if I have any backups from before. And how to I check if I have a custom recovery installed? Sorry for the stupid questions, but my tech savviness looses effectiveness once it starts dealing with devices which I can carry with one hand!

Do you remember if you unlocked the bootloader or not? If you have then there's a good chance that you do have a custom recovery. Reboot the device into bootloader mode (hold vol up + down + power button for a few secs), then go into recovery. If it goes "No command" then it's the stock recovery, if there are options such as wipe cache, flash zip, etc then it's a custom recovery.

As for the update itself, assuming you're running stock ROM, can you see the 4.3 update when you check for updates in the settings?

Looks like my next tablet would be the Note 10.1 2014. Same resolution with spen function :)

Curious to see what the next gen Nexus 10 would offer. But its already hard to beat the current Nexus 10.. I imagine only a quad core processor and maybe more ram?

The screen colour and contrast on the current N10 needs improvement - Colour gamut is on the low side.

Asus seems to be the OEM too.

An internal retail listing at PC world, UK, may have outed the big brother of the new Nexus 7, the Asus Nexus 10, well before it was initially intended. It also has potentially let slip the price tag too, listing it at £349.99, making this tablet that bit more expensive than Samsung’s Nexus 10 which went on sale for £319.99.

This new iteration of the Nexus 10 was shown to be made by Asus, thereby extending it’s partnership with Google on this product line.

The previous Samsung Nexus 10 was famous for it’s high resolution 2560×1600 display and it’s design, featuring front facing speakers. The speakers in-fact, quickly became one of the most highly praised design elements of the Nexus 10. The new Nexus 7 on the other hand, came out with a slightly dated processor but this made room for the full HD screen.

The Nexus 10 being a lot more expensive should also feature much more high end specs but we won’t know until the announcement, which could come as early as mid October during the Google event. We are also expecting to see the new Nexus 5 at this event, although the exact date is yet to be announced.

So who wants an Asus Nexus 10? Maybe it's time to start a new thread for it...

I see no reason to upgrade my Nexus 10 for another three years at least. It does all I want it to do; browsing and watching the odd video.

That £200 deal is very good.
