*** Nexus 10 Tablet ***

Chrome on Android is not as polished as Chrome on desktop. There always seems to be something wrong with it (come on Google, text size fix when?). Would have been nice if the AOSP browser was the stock browser, it's lighter and doesn't have any problems.

I don't have any issues with crome on my n10 apart from forum font size. If you are getting constant crashes I would wipe and then RMA if it still happens.

I've finally solved a WiFi issue with my N10! The WiFi connection on my N10 at my gfs has been awful ever since I bought it late last year. Webpages would take sometimes as long as 10 seconds to load, sometimes they would simply not load at all.

I tried reseting the router numerous times and tried numerous N10 ROMs with no joy. So I turned back to the router, It's a TalkTalk generic model. Set encryption from AES+TKIP to TKIP and boom!!!! Problems cured!!

Can finally enjoy this great tab.

Has anyone noticed any battery problems with the N10? Mine seems to instantly drain to 0% once it hovers around 40%, and when charging it instantly jumps from 60% to 100%. Googling around shows a lot of people seems to have the same problem as well (although more extreme)... and battery replacements also sometimes exhibit the same problem. Tried other ROMs to check and battery callibrations but that doesn't seem to work either.

Maybe it's a sign that I need a new tablet... I'm actually getting a bit fed up with my N10, it feels like Google has left this tablet in the dark.

Did a few power cycles and managed to fix the battery (takes ages to charge to 100% :p). I'm going to try be more efficient with the battery, I think me leaving it to charge every night could have caused the problem in the first place.

On the other hand I've also flashed Thunderkat ROM + kernel on it and I must say, it's a lot smoother than the stock ROM.

EDIT: Android L Theme on Xposed doesn't completely work, the notification and quick toggles area remins unchanged. The colours feels quite uncomfortable as well... uninstalled it and stuck with a module that changes only the navigation bar instead.

Lollipop image is up: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

Flashing the image now, let's hope ART improves this tablet by a good bit.

Another note... I have to drain this tablet to 0% every time, otherwise the battery problem crops up again. At least it properly goes to 0% now instead of the previous 40% before it died :p.

EDIT: No translucent navigation and status bars. They work fine in custom ROMs, I don't see why Google still feels the need to have this disabled on the N10. Moving away from Thunderkat makes the homescreen look horrible :p. Hopefully the developers will get root working on this soon, and hopefully the ART version of Xposed will be out too.

And the notifcation area too, it feels weird not being able to swipe on the left side for notifications, and right for the toggles, but I guess they wanted it to feel more uniform with the phones. At least 2-finger swipe still works for toggles.

I miss my lockscreen widgets...

On the other hand I'm surprised I'm still seeing around ~400mb RAM usage, seems to be as light as Kitkat, I was expecting it to use more considering the massive changes but it seems Google has done wonders on ensuring it stays small.

I am having touch issues since flashing Lollipop. Phantom touches and sometimes touches don't get recognised.

I really hope the Nexus isn't dying as I don't want to replace it.

I have side loaded the OTA and although its slow as molasses with it going nuts updating everything, I'm not getting any phantom touches.

I find Lollipop on the N10 really quick. I had Kitkat with Xposed before and always found some lag on the first press, but no problems at all with Lollipop.

Battery life does seem to be better, it is currently showing 17 days left with 70% battery remaining. I assume SOT etc would be quite similar but the standby time is certainly a lot better.

Much smoother, better battery compared to KitKat. There's no signs of lag on this. I don't plan to replace this tablet any more.

whats xposed?

A root app which allows you to install Xposed modules which can enhance the ROM (eg, better control over app permissions, translucent status bars, different status/nav icons) but it does use a tad more RAM the more modules you have running.
