*** Nexus 5 Accessory Thread ***

I don't normally put a screen protector on and this is the first phone that Ive put one on due partly to all my phone screen getting scratched no matter how careful i am.

To be honest my phones have only ever been protected by a sleeve. I'm just uber careful when it's out of the sleeve. So far, it's never been an issue.

I do need to be careful cos phone upgrades are usually riddled with "hand me down" clauses so need to be in good nick if I'm to blag a new phone :)

Waste of money as I picked up x2 of the below chargers for less than £35.

Cracking little things, made well and come in a whole host of different colours. Just pop your N5 on top centrally in any orientation, you get a beep, and charging begins. The status LED on the unit is also very dim, so perfect for those charging their phone right next to the bed:

Nice bit of kit for only £18 -

looking through the thread and what im looking for is something with a front, i have the asus premium case for my nexus 7 and id like something similar for the 5

not too fussed if it folds for a stand but would want a nice feel as adding a cheap case to a nice feeling phone... well i hope so ive just purchase one off ebay i just hope it ends well

somthing like this but not £35 would be nice
I would love the LG Quick Cover but it's damn expensive.

have a look on eBay there's literally hundreds of different cases for the nexus 5 now

they either seem to be ones that just cover the back or leather wallet style, ill have a better look when i get home, chances are ill end up paying £35 as i don't regret paying the extra for the nexus 7 premium cover

edit: they seem to be available of a sort. still not as nice as the official one as it seems to be a bit of fabric attached to a normal hard case

You are comparing something which costs £7 and £35, obviously at 5 times the price it should be better made.

If your happy paying £35 for a case then go for it, if you would be happy with a similar case for 1/5th of the price then do that.

Personally my £1.99 TPU plain black case is perfect for when I'm in the home and I use my bugatti pouch when I am out and about, the pouch protects the screen from scratches whilst in my pocket.

Ideally though I should have maybe bought one with a flappy pouch like the £7 above but I am happy using what I have for now.

well i ordered our second nexus and the official charger as well. Very impressed with the charger, exceptionally well built solid, and a super stick base.

Spigen cases (Slim armor) are going back though as they dont work well with the charger and im not convinced they dont just add bulk. ordered an official nexus 5 case in red to see what thats like. Took from about 5 till 11 to charge the phone too. Perhaps the case is just a little too thick

Found a nillkin v series case, it was delivered today and I'm very happy with it, nice slim case that offers full screen protection meaning the phone will be safe

Same with mine. Its brilliant for at work and I have dropped it 3 times without a mark on the phone.
Still on my first screen guard too.

That's a pretty cool case, using a spigen screen protector. Quite expensive and doesn't feel that great to be honest.
Also been using the spigen slim armor case, few gripes with it but it looks nice, also don't want to spend any more money on cases :(

Put the word flip or flap in your search "lg nexus 5 flip case", I paid £35 for my s4 case and have no regrets nor lost any sleep over the price as it'll either add to the resale price or be good to whichever family member gets it as a pass on while giving total protection while I own it.

Im using a Spigen Ultra Hybrid now and id say its 10/10 miles apart from the cheap tpu cases the buttons have plenty of feedback for me and it has slightly raised lips by 1-2mm or so so if its down on a table you won't scratch the clear back to death or the camera lens (although this does sit afew mm beneath the edge of the case)
