*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Lol, do you use your phone normally? Like do you use Twitter/Facebook/other apps? I can honestly say I've never got two days usage out of a charge before....

Don't have any of that stuff, no facebook, twitter, instagram, hangouts turned of, google now turned of.

As said that was with minimal usage, with heavier usage, I would get over 1 day with about 3-4 hours on screen time.

Nexus old bean - You may as well have a nokia 100 ;) Send me your nexus and I'll pop one in the post for you

I'm regretting this ios shenanigans now :( Still can't even Bluetooth a bloody file!

Not a chance I am giving my nexus 5 up! :p

But yeah, I don't use my smartphone much now since getting the nexus 7 2013. Only use it for phone, texts, camera and browsing, email when out and about and on sometimes, youtube videos & google maps.

You know what to do ;)

Does the new camera app fix the crappy video recording hiss in videos? Also, when I had mine it had some weird issue with the video or photos going dark after doing something - does it still do that?

Is it purely the Bluetooth aspect that's making you regret going for an iPhone?

Yup and then we have the choice of using ART instead too which supposedly gives a nice boost for speed/smoothness and battery life. Not touching that though as some apps don't work with it.

Thanks :)

And yup, no longer using it! Still a great wee phone imo.

No worries I'm glad you're enjoying your N5 experience. Nice comparison pics by the way. The HOS does hold up fairly well even after all this time.

That's what you get for moving over to an inferior operating system Mate!! :p

Android is way more customisable!! :D

Buy a N5 again 443 will be released soon and will most likely get rid of most if not all the bugs.

Nope we are waiting for 443 for that.

I'll buy one, if 443 fixes the camera stuff! I'm not willing to take that chance as they have had months to fix it now! If they do so I'll jump ship straight away.

Shame it means paying for tomtom again as I like it on my iphone!

Can't wait for 4.4.3.

The beauty of owning a nexus device, I "know" that I will get the update and that I will get it as soon as it is released, no more of this "oh, will this phone get 4.4.3?" OEM says "we will have to test it thoroughly first to make sure the device works well with it" (despite knowing damn well it will...) and then waiting 4+ months for an update........

Thanks, was going to post a few more but not much point really. The one s wins for sharpness and detail captured and of course features, options where as the n5 wins in pretty much every other area :D

Even with HDR+ enabled, it captures motion extremely well, which surprised me i.e. the cat pics, every time they moved their head during the "processing circle icon" yet it came out perfectly, even in normal shooting mode with the one s, sometimes the pics would either be out of focus or blurry.

updates are a bonus most of the time they don't add anything i want/need tbh unless if is fixing hardware like the camera/screen/radio, etc.

it's the pricing strategy and what you get for your money and the fact it's stock android which does it for me rather than updates.

I still don't think their camera is up to par yet, I wish Nokia would license their cameras out or someone come up with something similar.

Yeah for me it is mainly the principle :p Really ****s me of that OEMs/networks take so damn long to roll even the smallest of updates out or/and don't bother purely because they want to sell their more expensive/new devices first.

And yup, also the same reasons I went with the n5, price and stock android = <3

Camera isn't the greatest out there but overall it is very good and better than the majority of mobile cameras imo, especially in low light (where I have been wanting an improvement, this, the htc one m7/m8 and nokia phones are the only good phones at capturing low light photos, every thing else out there is either too noisy or/and blurry mess). I think google need to tone down on the noise reduction though, as great as it is having virtually no noise, they are also reducing the detail and sharpness by quite a bit, noticeable in landscape shots.

A Sainsbury's I just went to had the Nexus 7 (16GB) with £50 off down to £149. So tempted! Not even listed on their website though they have got the 32GB on there out of stock and with no discount.

Yeah I've been trying to see if it's reduced anywhere else and I don't think it is. I've also got an iPad 2 (which I rarely use because I won it and hate Apple) so it would be a straight swap looking at used prices.

I'm waiting till IO to see if there is a new tablet. I have an iPad Air but it is sort of a waste, I use my tablet for Reading/Watching and watching is just kind bad on the iPad due to the letter boxing, think an 8" 1080p tablet will be ideal which is what I'm hoping the next tablet is.
