*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

All of you moaning about silent mode being missing do know about hitting the No Interruptions button right?

Don't live up to your username :p

People are moaning because No Interruptions removes EVERYTHING (no notification LED). It was awesome just having no sound, no vibrate, but having an LED. This is no longer possible. And it sucks.

Won't that stop the notifications all together? I still want to see the LED light and have things sent to my pebble. Just no sounds and vibrate, but I do want the alarm in the morning!

Right now my phone is vibrating every time I get an email from work, which is very often Before The white light would flash and I would ignore it (that account doesn't get sent to my pebble).

Ah right. First thing I set up was Priority alerts so only my alarm and email comes through anyway when selected. Just configure them once and you're away.
Not as simple as the old way of doing things but it is an elegant solution once configured.

I've just upgraded from a Nexus 4 to a Nexus 5. Anyone thinking of doing the same then I would advise you not to get the SIM trays mixed up as they will get stuck!

What's the easiest way to get my messages from my old phone to the new one?

Just disable vibration notifications for emails/texts/calls? I'm really confused as to why people seem to have phones that are 'stuck on' vibrate?

Also, yeeeouch! Down to 15% battery by 3pm through normal use, which usually gets me through a day! I thought lollipop was meant to improve battery life!

Lollipop has made a right pigs ear of the tabbing system in Chrome, it's absolutely awful.

Yep, not sure why they couldn't have been smarter about the way they implemented that. I assumed it'd still let you switch tabs the same way as before (swiping left-right on the address bar) but you can't, nor does it group your tabs together; instead it treats each tab like a separate app which means you're scrolling through the entire list to find tabs you had open previously. I don't think there was a tab counter either so you'd potentially end up with dozens of tabs open that you don't really know about.

My n5 is has bootloader unlocked and is rooted. I received my ota today but have twrp as well from wugfresh toolkit. How do I install 5.0?

I'm having a problem with this too, just going to try and go back to the stock recovery and try again. When the OTA update downloaded I couldn't find it in the Cache folder so I couldn't install it with TWRP.

EDIT: Went back to stock recovery and flashed 5.0, looks quite snazzy.

There's a lot wrong with Lollipop, but the Smart Lock using facial recognition is pretty darn good. Only seems to take half a second, and only doesn't work in low light. I've added a bunch of pics of my mug and its working a treat.

Its crap. The camera records in portrait (like I want it to) but rotates incorrectly during playbacks.....garrrrgh!!!!!

None of this is going well for me. Had to flash the stock recovery in order to get the OTA update, but that still didn't work. Then I was told to wipe the stock recovery cache which just simply crashed my phone. My wifi and phone signal then became non-existent and my apps stopped working. Flashed 5 with Nexus toolkit and now just hangs on the boot screen.

I want the days of the 3310 back. This sucks. :(

Edit: Went back to 4.4.4 and nothing works. Can't make any backups of anything because it refuses to write to storage. Also can't grab my pics when I plug it into my PC as the storage folder is now empty. Hooray for losing everything!

Pretty close to this right now...
