*** Nexus 7 2nd Gen thread ***

Decent specs there....thanks Orcvader

Anything's better than the Tegra 3 chipset that is powering the Nexus 7.

Looking forward to the 15th, it couldn't come soon enough.

Specs look poor imo. I don't think it will be easy to notice any real difference over the current Nexus 7 apart from the higher res screen. Certainly not a big enough boost to warrant me selling it to upgrade anyway.

Right...

What is missing other than perhaps a micro sd card slot.

I sold my Nexus 7 a few of months ago as it was quite disappointing. Resolution no better than my phone and specs were worse (Tegra 3 is pretty rubbish).

Other than benchmarking where does the tegra 3 actually let you down? Okay the highest end games which I don't play are apparently not great on it, but for everything I use it for it's fine. Rarely lags.

I am not sure if I should get either the samsung 10'' tablet or the new Nexus7 ! !

what samsung 10 inch? you mean the nexus 10?

Web browsing is on a different level. On a tablet you want to be using resource heavy desktop sites.

Since this is pretty much most of the use people will make of a tablet, it is quite important.

Try the AOSP browser. Web browsing is perfect on the N7 with this browser. In fact the Tegra 3 uses all four cores when web browsing to increased page load.

I'm perfectly happy with my n7, although I don't play games. Web browsing, youtube, currents, email, Google music are all I use it for and I have no performance issues at all.
