*** Nexus 7 2nd Gen thread ***

Can anyone help me, I'm wanting to create folders to tidy up the menu screen (not the home screen)

Google has shown me an endless supply of how to create folders on the home screen, but not the menu screen! The OCD in me is going crazy!

Think we're stuck until Google release the factory images.... it's a bit of a blessing really for me though, as EE haven't fixed their EE TV app to work on 5.x, so having the LTE N7 2013 stuck on KK isn't such a massive pain. Even more so now that the Google Launcher's been tweaked to look more "material" and Lollipop-like!

Still, I wish they'd get a move on.

And I can now say that it hasn't, awful experience after a couple of weeks use. I really am regretting updating the thing now :/
 
Could anyone kindly tell me what the equivilent of adjusting a VPN connection like you would on Microsoft to get around when you connect to a VPN your not able to browse

On Microsoft you would go in to the VPN connection properties and untick "use default gateway on remote network"

When I connect to my vpn on my server from my tablet I'm no longer able to browse the internet. I want it to use my wifi connection and my gateway here for internet browsing but need to be able to access the other network over the VPN.

So be able to split tunnel basically
 
Are there any owners of the 2013 version that have owned the 1st gen version?
Is the difference night and day?

Mine has become pretty slow and despite trying different roms etc. its starting to annoy me and I use it a lot. Not seen anything else comparable in that price bracket and the 2013 version 32gb can be had for £140 at the moment.

My wife had the original and now owns the 5" one. I'd say battery life isn't as good (probably Lollipop) and it feels slow at times just like my Nexus 5. The tech specs are the same so if the old one is feeling sluggish this one will too.

Check out John lewis tab sale, I bought a tab pro 8.4 for £149 yesterday some other good prices too.
 
Well that's me joining the *Google update broke my tablet* gang. Stock N7 2nd gen. :rolleyes:

Installed 5.1.1 now the touch screen doesn't work. LAST Google device I EVER buy. :mad:
