*** Nexus 7 2nd Gen thread ***

Just updated, took about 20mins. Two questions 1) why is my hotmail now dealt with in Gmail :confused: it looks gash and makes the email icon irrelevant and 2) Won't Sony be pee'd off that Android is using their iconic symbols?

The joint notification pulldown is an unhelpful simplification and massive size of open app tabs is weird. Oh these companies who change for change's sake :rolleyes:
 
Am i the only one who is finding 5.0.1 slow? when I click an app, it takes a good 2+ seconds to load, even going to settings!

I was in settings, and that crashed (saying something like settings is no longer responding)

I have restarted since the update

I will have a proper play around later, not too fussed on the new notification, I like the switching between screens

Will see if the poor wifi signal issue I was having in the other version is any better, not liking the new keyboard layout, why make it in your face white, and with no borders around they keys

Seems to be quicker now, must have been updating and settling down.

Has anyone else had a problem whereby the power and volume hard buttons have completely stopped working?

Mine has been fine but earlier today the volume button stuck down, I gave it a press and it seems OK again, but then they all stopped working altogether.

Not sure what to do now, l can't reboot it to see if the buttons start working again, and if it switches if at any point it'll mean my tablet is dead as I can't turn it on again...
 
Anyone know if the Nexus can be used as an IR tv remote? My dad just got an LG tablet and it has this great app called QuickRemote which enables it to control all the tv's, players in the house!
 
Well I've got to reboot mine every few days, keyboard just starts typing complete gibberish.

Did Google actually test this pile of dog poo software?

Thought id ask in here after no replies to my wanted post in MM, I got my GF a refurb 32gb Nexus 7 2013 for xmas but it didnt come with a box. Does anyone have a box I can have/borrow for xmas I know its late in the month?

Totally agree. Unification is not always a good thing, it was much better when you had notifications on one side and access to settings on the other. Disappointing.
