NFL 2015 Season

Yeah I agree with you regarding the likely outcome, I'd be surprised if they aren't found guilty. It will be interesting to see how severe the punishment is, particularly in the wake of spygate. I read today that because of their past record the NFL could come down on the Pats more heavily than they would if this was one of the other teams.

One thing that does somewhat concern me is that the league is giving this so much weight (that in itself isn't a bad thing), but seemed content to play down the Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson incidents. I think Goodell feels like he needs a 'win' after a tough year in 2014.

I don't think it's ego, I think he is genuinely a really nervous and awkward (in an anxiety sort of way) guy when it comes to the media side of things. I read that that is why he doesn't like doing media days and giving interviews.

Utter idiot, disrecpecting the hugeness of what he's involved in, hope he gets a double sized fine for this ridiculous charade.

Leg breaking tackles please Pats! Deflate an ego along with the balls!

Or maybe he's just socially awkward, isn't comfortable speaking publicly and doesn't want to be in front of the media for hours a day and would rather just play football and let that do the talking.

At the end of the day though, a big name in a bit sport falls under a lot of media too, which, sadly in many circumstances can account for more than his playing does, whether it was social awkwardness, a phobia of this kind o thing or anything, for which I do feel for those who suffer from something like that, sadly to someone who doesn't know that about him it rubs off as extreme arrogance, but I'll get back in my box now :D

It's really 50-50 for me and for once I'm not really rooting for either team.

Although I would like to see Brady get a 4th SB win.

Also a couple more thoughts...

Patriots have the 9th best rushing defence in the league - all those tipping Lynch for MVP, I believe he will have a pretty tough day and will almost certainly be marked out of the game (at least for any big runs), which could possibly open the door for big rushing gains by Wilson.
Also a fact that has been overlooked because of the Seattle defence circle-jerking is that the Patriots have more takeaways that Seattle this season (and also only a couple fewer passes defended) and more Sacks than Seattle.

I believe it'll come down to which receiving team bothers to turn up.
Kearse and Baldwin can make some big plays but can also go missing. Willson can be a game changer at TE as well.
For the Patriots, Amendola and Edelman can also make big plays but they're fairly lightweight so Chancellor will probably try and put a hit on them early to scare them. LaFell can be hot or cold and they can't rely too much on Gronk.

Thanks for the clarification sir!

That had never occured to me. I know little of the sport basically got into it when you and not watched any for about ten years until last year!

No problem :)

I've been watching the NFL since the start of the 2006-07 season and haven't missed a season since. It's by far my favourite American sport and the only one I've seen live while in the USA.

Anyway, back to tonight. I have absolutely no idea who is going to win, though I think the Seahawks have to be considered the favourites. They are defending champions and the Pats can struggle to defend against QBs who have enough mobility to get out of the pocket; I can see Russell Wilson putting up some good rushing numbers tonight. On the other hand, it's difficult to count out the Pats. They aren't the most spectacular or the highest ranked in terms of stats, but they always seem to find a way to get things done and really don't make many mistakes. I certainly don't think it will be a blowout like last year's Superbowl.

My head says Seahawks while my heart says Pats.

Let's go Pats!

Will struggle to stay awake for the whole match but anything I miss will be watched whilst at work tomorrow.

Let's hope the ball is inflated enough aye ;)

And so begins my once in a year interest in the NFL lol.

My once per year interest started and finished within 5 minutes. How do people watch this ****?

American egg chasing is the single biggest reason why I'm always against video technology in football. The best thing about football is the flow of the game. You barely get 4 seconds without a stoppage here.
