What I like about hockey over here are that the fans that go and watch it are passionate about their sport and the level of banter you get is hard to match. Football is full of "We won this 20 years ago, our team is better, yours is naff" but at ice hockey its more of a community. It has qualities you struggle to find elsewhere.



To be fair I think all of the Scottish teams have upped their game since the elite league. You have to remember two seasons ago we were playing against amateur teams and romping every game. Our record this season is up's and downs but there it's a good foundation to build on. The team we have this season could have been better. Lacking a bench coach for most if it doesn't help. But we've still pulled off some great wins. Beating Sheffield with Sestito in the lineup was a highlight along with hammering you lot a good few times. On the flip side i've also seen us play shockingly bad against the caps. Murrayfield is definitely our killer rink.

There is no question the NHL is better, can't compare it to us but we still have a great set of die hard fans and with more local authorities building rinks it can only get better for us as a sport.

Lol, I think Ev0 was talking about the Philli Flyers and the Washington Caps, NOT the Fife Flyers and the Edinburgh Capitals.

We also played better when Todd was on the bench. There's a common theme in there.
 
Just watched last nights Caps game, way too close for comfort and they need to stop losing such large leads like that!

Still, a win is a win...

Also Nashville say they are going to play Forsberg tonight, still think that was a bad trade but will see I guess.
 
He's making a difference but not necessarily carrying them, 2 lovely assists by Perrault that game and Ribeiro's little pass to Brouwer were good.

But every team needs their superstar ;)
 
Turned into an interesting season finale for the Caps, be an interesting last week of the season with a lot at stake.
 
With all the big signings they've had in the last year with Nash and Richards for example I think it would be kind of funny if they didn't make the playoffs. Before season started they were one of the favourites for the cup.

On a side note, any Coaches Corner / Don Cherry fans in here? Lets go! (thumbs up) :D
 
That is very cheap. Even on Hockey Monkey they are US $130.

I think I'll get my Maple Leaf winter classic jersey soon. Hoping to actually go to the game on new years day.
 
I got my Malkin jersey used (in perfect condition) on the bay for about £20 a couple of years ago, looks amazing.

Very much so looking forward to the playoffs in a few days! As long as we shape up our PK unit we'll be able to make a good run for the finals.

Yay another pens fan friend?!

I am away the week of the finals games :( going to have to watch it from abroad I think!

I had a look but could not see many cheap ones in the UK, like you say you used to be able get them years ago.

A fan since I was 5, 19 years ago now! You're away the week the actual final will be played? Damn, you'll miss us raising it :(
