NHL

Last nights game could have gone either way, we have some serious digging to do. Going to be very hard to overcome this deficit vs a team like Boston.

Stats are exactly that, nothing more. They've been broken before and will be again and again. Reverse sweeps happen, not often, but they've happened, recently too. I'm not saying we're going to win but if Vokoun can play like he did in game 3, we have a chance.

Been avoiding this thread as I've not been able to watch the games until a few days after due to being away with work, and still got game 4 to watch but obviously know the result now.

Bring on the final, come on Boston.

I'm avoiding the thread largely as I don't want to find out the results before I watch the games as I tend to watch them a day or two after ;)

I've been watching a few games and I'm seriously impressed with the speed of the game and also teh violence. I mean short of actual fighting I don't know any sport that lets you have a fight and only gives you a 5 minute penalty lol, and for both teams at that :D. But I don't really have any geographical affiliation with any of the teams other than maybe where a few of my favourite tv shows are based so I was wondering if there was a 'match of the day' type program for NHL and perhaps a match of the week thing I could watch until I choose the team I want to follow.

Just do what I do and follow a different team each season until you find one you really like. I've been following the Avs for the past 3 years and they've been utterly, utterly woeful so I feel like I'm getting my cake and eating it now that they're tearing up the league this season. :D

You should head over to NHL.com, there are loads of highlights, clips of goals, fights, skills, saves and every club has a portal to their own website through the NHL site too. It's a really nice, well made system, far better than what we have for our sports over here.

Yeah it is a pretty good website. I've watched quite a few canucks games simply because I was and still am surprised with the pronunciation of canucks. Perhaps I'll follow them for the rest of the season...

Loving the season so far. Have watched Condensed versions of every single game and a load of full replays and some live ones at weekends. Even got my mates to watch the Pens vs Canucks couple weeks back before heading out on the drink and since then they have watched 3 more with me!!

Penguins have always been my team since '93 when I was about 8. Shame they got hammered last night by NYR :-( - Still, the Met division is pretty poor so they should still win it.

I like to have 3-4 more teams to route for too so I randomly picked Tamba Bay as one and St Louis Blues as another. Tamba Bay are probably one of the shocks so far? Playing really well.
My last 2 teams to make my 5 are: Cayotes, Sabres.

So I decided my order of preference when they play each other to be:

Penguins > Lightning > Blues > Sabres > Cayotes

No real reason for it mind...lol

Every game? Blimey, are you a student or unemployed? Lol.

The canucks v coyotes game drew, then OT failed then they went to the shootouts such was really good. I've but seen that before in my short tube watching this sport. I have one question, at full time with a draw they both get one point. However obviously one team goes on to win, how many points do the winning team get? Is it more beneficial to draw and then win or simply win at full-time?

Condensed versions are only 10 minutes long!
I cram them in at any opportunity. lol

While getting ready for work/having breakfast I can usually watch 2-3.
Then I watch the rest during lunch break if there are quite a few games and/or while having dinner in the evening.
I also stick a full game on a few times a week at work in the background. I decide my own work schedule so I pick out a couple hours of jbos in a row that allow me to watch a game while doing them.

:p
