NHL

If anybody missed it Nathan McKinnon scored a ridiculous goal in game 2 against the Wild. Hard to believe it's his first year in the NHL, he plays like he's been doing it at this level for years. Has to be in with a good chance of the Calder Trophy.

Been watching all of the Blues v Blackhawks series and man that has been pretty epic so far.
1 fast, skillful team, against a hard hitting forchecking team - but the Blues can be skillful too and the Blackhawks can hit hard too. I love the Blues and hope they win the cup but it's a shame 1 of these teams has to go in Round 1.

To be frank, I think almsot all the playoff teams have the potential to win the cup if they play well but the Bruins still have to be the faves. I'd love a Bruins v Blues final with Blues taking it 4-3....can only hope!

As good as all teams are, I still think the Bruins are the only ones truly likely to topple a Western team in a BO7. I'm putting forward Montreal as the dark horse though from the East.

Shame Tampa were knocked out with a 4-0 sweep. Their series with Montreal provided some great games i nthe regular season and was so close but Montreal really stepped it up for the playoffs.

Sharks got lucky against the Kings but overall they are playing really well offensively so will be tough to stop.

Boston looked to be cruising mostly and I can't see Detroit posing them a threat in the rest of the games now.

I suported the Penguins for 21 years since I was 7 years old but Columbus earned a lot of respect from me this year with the way they play - really exciting to watch and if the Penguins do get knocked out, I'd sooner it be by Columbus than any other Eastern team.

Playoffs have been great so far. The intensity level just goes through the roof as usual after the regular season ends.

Hope the Blues can beat Chicago tonight. Don't fancy letting them get 2 wins in a row as they are lethal when they get going. Still think Blues can handle them but it'll be tough.

Really weak game from the Flyers last night, Rangers got 4 goals in 20 shots, not great from Emery. We should have Mason back for the next game though so hopefully we can win on Saturday.

We had a lot of shots but no real scoring opportunities :/

The Flyers games this entire season have been hit or miss from the ones I've seen when they have played teams I support. Somedays they were amazing, others they were awful.

NYR are underrated a little in this seasons playoffs though but I still expect a close series in the end.

There are a few teams in who don't have a strong enough goal tending line-up though and I'd put the Flyers in there. Unfortunately I count my Blues in there as Miller lets in too many soft ones - as seen the other night

#VarlyVarly :p

Really looking forward to tomorrow night's game 4, hoping the Avs bounce back from the OT loss but we'll see how it goes. Barrie will be a bit of a miss but by all accounts Duchene might be back for the next round if we progress. Good to see Cooke being suspended for 7 games for that absolutely retarded knee.

Penguins massive bottlers, Keeper was amazing for 59:30 then hands them a goal then lets in a 20 yard shot in OT.

That's Fleury for you. Personally, I'd rather have someone who isn't quite as good overall but doesn't let in many soft goals - especially in a tight playoff series.

Miller is similar for the Blues.

Penguins killed the jackets in the regular season but Columbus have really upped their game late season and I love watching them. Penguins seem to have a sense of entitlement about their play because they have so many indivudally gifted players. Todays NHL is about the skill game more than the physical game but you still need to play as a team and Pittsburgh are not doing so for large parts of the game.

Supported them most of my life but going off them these days

Pens don't have a team of individually gifted players. They have Crosby and Malkin who run hot and cold the rest are average. Their defence has been crap its as simple as that. I stick up for Flower as he keeps us in games but then sometimes he just has massive brain trumps and lets a stupid goal in.

They need to win tonight otherwise they are out.

I've watched them a lot and many times they just didn't seem to turn up as a team. Defense is poor for sure but I thought most of their bad losses were just not playing as a team and lacking effort.

They were also surprised a bit by Columbus in the playoffs and Columbus are underated IMO so they did well to wake up and get passed them.

Gutted the Blues were booted out heavily. The Blues of the first half of the season would have beat the Blackhawks without a problem but they have been very off the last few months bar the occasional good game.
Played OK at first in the series.

At one point they had by FAR the best goals vs goals against in the league and a top 3 power play and number 1 penelty kill. Those stats divebombed towards the end.

Ever since the Halak/Stewart trade for Ott/Miller they were never the same. I think if they hadn't made the trade they could have went all the way - it seemed to upset the balance of the team.
Could have kept up form, won division easily, rested well before playoffs...

Still hard to see anything other than Bruins getting revenge on the Blackhawks in the final. Only team in the east who could stop Bruins IMO is Montreal as they seem to be on fire.

Horrible.

Only player to show up for the first two periods was Mason, kept us in the game but too little too late in the end. Played great in the 3rd but it wasn't enough.
