NHS BMI Calculator

not an unreasonable preoccupation : got to be beach body ready - if you can still afford to visit the beach, or would want to swim in the sea with the mussels.

I'm a lardarse. But that calculator says that I'd be okay at 70kg. No freaking way. I used to weigh that and was forever ill. I reckon 95-100 kg is my target. I have a long way to go.

Mmm the ole BMI ****** again, weird as I was 24.7 on this index when I ran a marathon in 2:52... and could benchpress 115kg... and I was on the border... hey ho... never took any notice of these things... I look in the mirror and know whether I'm fat or not generally

Thanks for this thread, I'd not weighed myself since Christmas and I was 14 stone then. Down to 11 stone and 11 lb now so my BMI is down to 23.

All I did was switch from beer to wine/gin :D

Was 99.7kg (15st 10lb) when I started my new job back on 31st October. Am now 74.8kg (11st 11ib), all with no change in diet or exercise.

Just want to lose another 6.3kg (1st) and I'll be happy with that. Just hoping it comes off my belly to flatten it out a bit. Going to be a pain at my age though, but I'll give it my best shot.

The Daily Mail repeating say: dwell on that we'll all die early from genetics, AIDS, lung cancer, diabetes, heart attacks, COVID, dementia, stroke, high cholesterol, stupidity, be vegan etc. Live long the UK lol.

Says I'm pretty much a stone overweight, what about you?

I'm nearly obese (98.2kg, in my 40s, 184cm). But I had my body fat measured and I'm around 14.5%. So for a mid 40 year old I'm not too worried. My HDL ratio is off the charts and the rest of my blood work is perfect.

The caveat is I'm very sporty and carry a fair bit of muscle mass.

BMI is useless for people like me but for the "average Joe" it's a suitable measure of if you need to rethink your lifestyle.

One thing I urge people to do is to do regular blood tests to keep track of your health.

Ocuk should just have a subforum called bmi
It would probably be the most repeated thread topic here.

Gonna start a thread called what are the most repeated thread subjects in GD... :P
Tho it requires a little thought.

Probably
safe to eat...?
What's my BMI ?
I hate overweight people for X reason.
Something a 5 year old should know but op doesn't......

That's a start...

But but but we like to repeat everything ad nauseum here! This is the ethos of OcUK isn't it?
