NHS **** you

A lot of that is rubbish I'm afraid. Please don't perpetuate these silly myths that frighten and mislead people.

Do some treatment regimens cause lowered immune systems? Yes.

Do all treatment regimens cause lowered immune systems? Not even close.

It's not as good as the bloke on here who is scared of giving up smoking in case it gives him cancer.
True.

You may wish to bear in mind that I have a degree in Oncology and work as a cancer treatment specialist.

Your expertise means nothing to most posters on here I'm afraid because they have the internet.

I'm very sorry to hear this :(

Unfortunately prostate cancer drugs are one of the most expensive drugs.

But, that doesn't mean that they should change there mind all of a sudden.

Really bad news, it must be devastating to have something you rely on taken away.

I'm currently on a drug called "Etanercept" that costs £25k per year.. and i though that was expensive.

God forbid should they ever decide to stop paying for it, I'd be screwed.

Very sorry to hear about your dad, OP, hoping for the best.

Some interesting discussion in this thread. I dont know how trials work but I'd imagine it looks like the best chance for your dad and can imagine why you're angry if its been refused. I hope going by RH's post that you make sure if you do pay for it, that its the recommended course of action by clinicians.

That is very unfair indeed. NHS is one of the things that every country should have. We have it, and now this is starting to happen!
