Nice pongs and gorgeous whiffs. The Aftershave thread!

I have quite the collection at the moment, both niche and designer frags. I buy a lot of them via decants on Basenotes from Palmolive, will have to post a pic of the collection when I get home.

Just about ran out of my daily wear which is blue de chanel, so went to look for something else that will be nice on this hot weather. Ended up with Acqua Di Parma Colonia Assuluta.

I tried about 20 different acqua di parmas before I settled on this one. They have so many to choose from with lots of variants !

Nice. BdC Parfum is in my current summer rotation and I'm a fan of Acqua di Parma Colonia Intensa for the summer months too.

Hoping I'm not going to get flamed for this but Sauvage EDP here and the Mrs literally melts at the slightest whiff of it.

Gets plenty of compliments at work.

EDP is a little darker and richer then the EDT where the EDT tends to explode and shout AMBROXAAAAN for the first hour but the EDP really doesn't do that. It's far more mysterious at the beginning until the dry down where you get a lovely mix of Lavendar, Pepper, Ambroxan and Leather with a slight sweetness of Vanilla. The notes change depending on where its sprayed. For me its the Amber and leather on the neck and the Lavendar and Pepper on the wrist.

One of the fragrances where I can truly pick apart the composition within it.

Definitely my signature fragrance and a masterpiece IMO.

^Legend reminded me of liquorice! It's a bit bitter sweet immediately, needs an hour or two to settle and become pleasant to my nose!

Versace Eros is the longevity king for sure now in terms of price vs quality. I do find the spray head releases a thicker blast than the others though, doesn't vaporise so finely, so you end up using up more in one spray.

I've had two cuddles from the ladies in the office. Walked in and they both said, wow what's that aftershave you've got on. Of course I said creed aventus LOL Then they both came over and gave me a cuddle, followed by them both sticking their noses into my neck.

Never had anyone compliment me on my other aftershaves, and I have quite the collection. Creed is King! I've read on the internet it's womens catnip but damn!

Sprayed it on just before 7am so interesting to see how long it lasts. Can't go wrong for £28.

Might find a reason to walk around the HR department later ;-)

:edit: 8 hours in and I can still smell it on me

I have both and can tell the difference, however for under 30 quid its a no brainer. My Armaf has a more black peppery note with a lemony opening and the Aventus has the pineapple with a more rounded spice. I tend to stick with the Aventus split i got though.

It's amazing isn't it (Creed) :) Personally I can tell the difference but people who don't own it probably can't. It is indeed catnip.

I personally can't stand this fragrance. I find it very unpleasant and to make it worst, I smell it all the time, its so common.

I live in Andover where 80% of the population think Lynx is expensive. I can assure you Sauvage EDT/EDP is as rare as a rocking horse around here. Are you sure you haven't had a whiff of the EDP after the dry down? The EDT can be quite obnoxious and if over-sprayed it can turn sickly due to the over abundance of Ambroxan. The EDP I can assure you is richer, darker, smoother and less edgy - definitely not nauseating.

Most lads in the 20 to 30 bracket here are either hung up with 1 Million or some cheap Paul Smith frag.

I recently tried a squirt of the 1 Million 'Lucky' and that was awful! Was far too feminine - I smelt like a candy shop and the Mrs immediate requested I wash it off. Similar opinions on the new Prada Luna Rossa 'Black' - I was quite disappointed with this as Luna Rossa Carbon and Luna Rossa Sport are gems!

I've read lots of posts saying pineapple vintage is good, but not better than cdn
Personal preference I guess. To me CdN is closer to the older, smokier Aventus batches, but I find it quite harsh on the opening, where PVI is obviously more on the fruity side of later batches and opens much nicer.

YMMV as they say.
