Nice pongs and gorgeous whiffs. The Aftershave thread!

I forgot how bad some of the fashion brand fragrances were. I got some Gucci Guilty (aspiring top earner :p) for Christmas from my folks and the alcohol just about burnt my face off! Absolutely rotten stuff.
Some are okay.. but if you want quality ingredients, go niche for sure.

Took advantage of sales and stocked up.

Calvin Klein CK One Shock
Davidoff Cool Water
Montblanc Explorer
Armani Code
Paco Rabanne 1 Million
Hugo Just Different
Hugo

Never tried Hugo Just Different before, but took a punt. It's pretty meh. Should have got Dark Blue instead. Oh well, something to drench myself with before going to the gym.
This reminds me of being about 19 years old :p

Grabbed a couple samples of things I've heard are good.
Nishane Hacivat and Xerjoff Naxos.

God knows where they get these names, anyway they're at the very pricey end, so no way I'm buying blind.

Lady friend at work grabbed hold of me, when she caught explorer on me.
From what I've been told, Hacivat will have her ripping her knickers off :D

Theyre both fantastic releases. (I have both) I prefer hacivat more than Naxos, because it’s easier to just spray and go (regardless of season)

Surprised explorer lasted long enough for someone to get a whiff to be honest

Anyone have an alternative for Chanel No 5 for my wife. She has quite a bit left of her EDT and really loves the scent as it is not particularly fruity of "bright". Looking for something that is similar but different enough for her to change things up when she wants.

Spent a bit of time in The Perfume Shop yesterday. The guy was so knowledgeable and ended up showing me 15+ fragrances. :p

I did say at the start I was browsing/buying online with my Amex/is this ok? He said sure as he was bored and the shop is dead!

I loved Bleu de Chanel, Dior Sauvage, the new Givenchy (these are EDP) and actually the original Spicebomb.

Seems like i quite like a mix but yeah wow...can see why this gets addictive. :o

I got a large bottle of Mont Blanc Individual EDT this week to try out and have to say it is quite nice and lingers even on clothing all day. This won't be replacing Victor No9 of course, just something fancier to keep as like to have a couple on rotate and Amazon had 50% off recently.

Victor seems to be favoured by so many people. I met a couple I am shooting a wedding for the venue recently to go over the shoot plan etc and when we said goodbye the bride leaned over for a hug and commented on the fragrance. Guess what the groom is getting :p Seems to be a pattern here with Victor No9. Just a shame the spray head releases thick droplets instead of vaporising it like other bottles do. It empties too soon as previously mentioned.
