Nick Griffin, speaks the truth for a change?

I think common sense is in the thread in bits. The truth is too not act has the biggest potential cost, you cannot dispute that no matter what side your on. Forecasting is massively difficult, given a data set on global temperatures I could argue both side's arguments. The truth is there is a VERY real possibility that it is man made. And whilst that possibility is the majority (which it is in scientific circles) we must do everything we can to curb global emissions. There is no, and I mean no, sensible reasoning against this.

Right. If you MIGHT have potential famine, you just don't go "oh, it might not happen!" You stockpile food.

Except such action is pointless because countries such as China and India are going to have their industrial revolution whether we care or not.

Meanwhile, we tax our economies to death and commmit economic suicide for no gain. If every car in the UK stopped driving tommorrow the reduction in world CO2 would be replaced by Chinas Coal power station programme in less than a WEEK.

this is more like being one fram holder and personally stocking food while no one else does. the famine will still come, and you'll be beaten to get the food you hoarded.

You're doomed to suffer with the rest.

Although with the famine thing it's like knowing it's going to happen and be permanent, and rather than finding a new way to grow food you stockpile some.

yes you'll be good for a few more months but it's still going to happen and your still going to starve.

No you're not, you're saying we can stop it from happening in the first place...

I would very much like you to quote where I directly did so... thus proving yourself correct and myself incorrect.

And I still am curious as to why your named after a saucepan, unlike yourself I wont make a wild assumption and claim that its because your belly button glows red when you hit the correct temperature.

You're right sorry missed the "not" out in the last line :)

and it's in my sig.

indeed... all im saying is one way or another changes will happen, whilst the cause is unknown the implications are not, (although the scale is very wide I admit) and it does no harm to cover the basis we know we can cover now such as flood defences, water supply security, disaster management planning, investing in alternative power sources.

I still do not understand why every new home built does not come with a solar panel and a ground source heat pump. 5K on the price tag of a £125K house over twenty years is neither here nor there.

as for your nick... now I see... should I presume your were originally Hobbs or Richards... ;)

I am not listening to anything this idiot speaks.

If there are problems with these climate predictions then someone more credible than Nick Griffin will draw more of my attention.

is he in a position that his views count?

No man, hes just talking in the European parliament and the leader of the fastest growing political party in the UK. His views totally wont influence others

As for global warming, Im really not sure who to believe any more. While I refuse to accept that human activity on the planet has no impact on our global climate, I also don't know how much of an effect it does have.

Nick griffin has so many good policies and opinions, it's such a shame that he ruins them with his sexist and racist ideals.

Whether it is right or wrong, if companies work to improve the efficiency of their products/services how is that in anyway a bad thing, I definately don't think taxing the public is the answer but then if they didn't people wouldn't think so much about buying a more energy efficient car.

We should be doing everything we can to push forward technology and although I don't agree with this approach of scaremongering, it has actually resulted in green cars and alternative approaches to transport.

climate change! let's all meet in Copenhagen and travel there in our lovely BIG jets and pollute the atmosphere a bit more :) surely it would be cheaper and more economically friendly just doing a BIG conference call...quite ironic ;)

I know what my money is on and it isn't the crap been spewed about climate change! The world is NATURALLY warming up (apparently) ;) I can't believe for one minute that 100 years of industry has done the damage that they speak of after millions of years of evolution.
