On sale for £25 on PSN is the dlc for £11 worth it as well?
The first save is after that boss I'm afraid. Think it took me 3 goes. It was easy in the end though when discovering how useful the dodge is.Ok I know there are fans of this game on here so talk to me guys... I just played for 49 minutes - got killed just after the giant robot, was returned to the main menu, selected to continue, only to find that I need to replay the entire 50 minutes again! So what gives!? That surely can't be a deliberate design? Is there a way of saving progress up to that point? When/where/how? Great game so far although the visuals do look a bit jaggy round the edges (I have everything maxed aside from Motion Blur which if off).

Thanks. I had a playthrough on easy and the 'auto chips on' thing - man talk about hand holding, with that turned on you basically just move and it does the rest for you - I even had the game dodge for me! Not complaining as just want to get to the game proper - I was climbing up the end boss when I had to leave the PC, came back and the window was down to a small rectangle - it crashed when I tried to get it back to fullscreen so I have to start again!Yes, it's deliberate and it's pretty normal to drop the difficulty for the intro section. You'r not losing much apart from the challenge as there aren't any difficulty-related achievements. You'll be able to save soon, just remember the game doesn't autosave so quicksave often.
Also, progress a bit through the story to unlock fast travel before getting into side stuff properly.
Yeah it's every game. I just used the automatic installer from the thread in the Steam forums...Weird, every game? It only works with Nier, are you sure you installed it properly?
Yeah, easy mode is a joke. Shouldn't be in the game.
About the crashing, seems that some people experience varying degrees of that as the port is a mess. I get none, fortunately, and most seem to be OK so hopefully it will be all right for you.
Figured it out - I didn't select the FAR mod from the installer - leaving at the default 'Special K installer' or something like that which was then applying itself to every game. I uninstalled then reinstalled ensuring I select only the FAR mod for Nier Automata this time. Sorted.I did the same and installed the texture pack, FAR only launches in Automata for me. It's installed into the game folder and shouldn't have access to other games, I don't really know what's going on:/ Did you use the latest installer etc.? I also remember there were multiple options during installation. Maybe try reinstalling or installing manually?

Thanks I did see that but wasn't sure if that was part of what I had already downloaded. I'll check it out. The game definitely looks far better than before although I wouldn't have said it looks anywhere near so good that I should be getting an average of 50 FPS at 3440x1440 with my set up but I suppose that's not uncommon with Japanese PC ports.Ah, that's what I thought as the installer is a bundle of Kaldaien's stuff. Glad it's sorted
I'd suggest installing the HD Texture Pack for FAR, makes many textures a lot better for a negligible performance impact.
