NieR: Automata announced for PC, game shipping Early 2017 on both platforms

Mate, exactly the same for me. Normally I find a gem of a game and don't care if others play it but in this instance, I really do want others to play it. Something special with this one and PEOPLE PLEASE PLAY IT :D

Yeah, and don't read the reviews, let you jaw drop to the floor naturally:D Seriously, this level of focus, uniqueness and elegance in a somewhat budget release is just amazing. The music alone slaughters everything.

I'd also suggest playing with Japanese audio, even better atmosphere.

I had gameplay frame rate issues that using borderless gaming sorted. My only issue now is the cut scenes aren't the smoothest. Still a cracking game!

I can't get into any game since Witcher 3, is this worth a punt with the Steam sale? Seems to get great reviews with lots of variety in gameplay

I used a xbox pad and it supported it perfectly, look up the far mod to fix any possible res and perf issues but otherwise runs great.

Will try shortly with the fix as well. Pretty poor to not have an update to address this months after release.

*Edit - So whilst I didn't bother doing any testing without the mod, enabled this seems to run flawlessly maxed out with in game settings at 1440p at locked 60fps so far. Using the mod, as recommended, changed the lighting to high from ultra for what is reported as virtually no difference. It did appear that from looking at the menus alone, the game may have been upscaled without the mod. Addressed by default upon reloading with FAR on.

Zone of the enders meets bayonetta with a hint of metal gear solid so far :D

Started playing this and the beginning is really good, bit of shoot em up, big boss battle in first 20mins.

Now after a couple of hours seems a bit boring  (Just completed the desert bit where you fight that android fella)

Does the game ramp up the action again or it just me constantly fighting those trash can-esque robots and collecting parts?

Looking to pick this up as I'm pounding AC:O too hard and could do with a mix; and I'm really surprised that it's still full price!

Are there performance issues that I need a mod to fix, or has the game been patched?

I play it on PC (4790K + 1070) with the FAR patch and enhanced textures and have had no issues. Plays great for me. Of course, ymmv :)

never neded far mod and i played the game since release and completed it without any problems... so i got my 40 quids worth.. and yes i did the "proper" completion!

Yeah I was going to pick it up in the Xmas sales but it wasn't on offer. It was in the sale previous to that - around £28 if I recall correctly but yeah I haven't spent £40 on a game since Far Cry 3, will need to be closer to £20 for me to pull the trigger...

I got 20% off at GMG so went for it. It looks interesting enough, feels quite original and I see inspiration from games from years back. I do feel the graphics could be a bit better, but gameplay will make up for that.

I love the Japanese feel and I've got it set on Japanese language with English subtitles. I've just got to the very first settlement area so probably just scratching the surface... But what about that save system; brutal.
