Night Drive?

I went to uni down in Exeter, lots of country lanes within about 200 yards of the campus. My favourite time was 5am on a summer morning, dry roads, cool air, sun rising, both windows down and VTEC. Those were the days.

:D Ive just been for a drive to the local McDonald's and then went for a blast round some country roads.

I pulled up to let a 106 go past me as he had his fog light on dazzling me and noticed there were some parked cars. Upon further inspection there were people inside in various states of undress . I think i must live in a dogging hotspot or something as this is the second time Ive seen it in the last week.

right, that golf advert seems to be set in canary wharf...Canary wharf is empty in the small hours but you can only have so much fun driving around less than a mile in a circle!

i had a few friends round a couple of months ago, it was a nice night and it came to 4am and we decided to go for a drive as we werent tired, we hoped onto the a13 down to the next junction which is Canary wharf and took the ring road into the City via tower hill..

doh, we were then stuck in traffic for over 30min and decided to cut our losses and went home.

the most entertaining part of the journey was being pulled over by three police cars less than 50yds from my garage!..

aparantly we looked dodgy and we were asked if we were going drifting in our FWD family wagon.

Thats what I'm not looking forward to getting pulled. I get really nervous around police even when Ive done nothing wrong.

Used to do this all the time, ended up in all sorts of places, few times having to kip in the car after having drove for hours not knowing where we are.

Random drives are awsome!

Yep I did this the other night after getting my new car.

I just drove with no real purpose it was great.

The only thing I found was doing this is a new relatively powerful car with no one else on the roads is that I was doing quite illegal speeds really quite quickly. :)

Can't really do it in the Elise cos the intake/exhaust wakes the dead, it's a bit too noticeable at midnight really.

I prefer driving at night.

Doing 2PM starts, I tend to be finishing my shift anywhere between 2AM & 5AM.

The roads are much better at night, especially between 3 & 4AM, no bloody car drivers to spoil the fun us truckers have in the small hours.... ;)
