*** Nintendo Switch ***

Pre ordered 3D All Stars. Played Mario 64 back in the day but never the other 2 games. Also my little boy is making his way through Odyssey at the minute and loving it so looking forward to playing these with him.

Just finished adventure mode on Mario Tennis Aces. What a frustrating game.

At present we play either hand held or with the joy cons in the hand grip thing. Is a pro controller worth £50 and what does it bring to the party?

It’s the only way to get accurate analog controls instead of the effectively digital motion on the joy cons.

That’s the only advantage.

I was hesitant buying the Pro Controller, but now can't imagine using a switch without one. The controls are accurate and really feel superb. The ability to connect to PC as well (via cable or bluetooth) is a big plus too, I've found myself using it more and more on PC for games that don't need analog triggers.

I love the Pro controller. If you plan long sessions using the TV then I can't recommend it enough. Really precise, comfortable and the battery lasts for ages. Quality product.

Said it much earlier in this thread but the Pro pad is a must have imo, it's battery life is excellent and is much comfier to use for prolonged gaming sessions Vs the joy cons.

As the analogue sticks are bigger they're easier and more comfortable to use, better to aim etc. It's just a much better experience.

I've never been a big fan of the joy con sticks, they're too small for my long witch like fingers.

I'm surprised there's not more talk on Mario Kart Live in general, that looks like the really interesting and innovative thing here to me over the other re-releases, but each to their own, as it's not for everyone over a new digital MK game.

This does looks great, as long as the carts/controls perform well, but I doubt it would reach this stage of development if they didn't. (and for this price with a flagship franchise)
I think some are discounting the potential popularity and re-playability of this too easily, for creative types, families and kids it looks amazing (to big kids like me too) - it'll be interesting to see what some do with it and if it gets further updates to expand and refine it further.

The only real downsides I can see is the initial price point and space concerns with setting it up and how it runs on carpets - although even in a modest sized room there's still plenty of scope for a decent track layout and hopefully the carts will still run on most carpets just not the think ones, which you wouldn't really expect anyway for their size.
Carpet racers are maybe more like 100cc speed and hard floors are 150cc+. :)

I think it would appeal to kids more, I can see myself getting bored pretty quickly as an adult.

I can’t see the video streaming quality and controls latency working out as advertised though.

Why is it so difficult to get hold of a Switch Dock? It's constantly sold out on the official store.

Reading reviews on alternatives is worrying with the amount of people bricking their Switches as well.

Any recommendations is appreciated! :)

Ebay? Ive been looking to buy another Switch and there's loads on there (as long as you don't mind second hand obviously!)

Been using a skull&co dock for around a year no issues just use the Nintendo license cable and you should be fine

Hi guys have many of had issues with the switch overheating after around 5 minutes.

I believe the internal fan has stopped working.

I’m guessing it’s not a cheap repair but any advice would be great.

Also were considering a switch lite for Xmas so if I transfer my sons account from this switch to the lite will his fortnight purchases also go across? I don’t believe I’ve made a epic account so I assume all his data is on the switch itself tied to his account name.

cheers

So son stole my switch for first time today as had his friend over (he is 4) he actually considering his age did really well on Mario Kart and is after his own switch which im not against getting him his own but will be switch lite. Do deals often come up for these?

I honestly haven't really looked at a switch lite but it would be fine for him as no need for him to have a dockable one
