*** Nintendo Switch ***

On 3ds (and previous DS) you can play mario kart on 2 (or more) consoles with just 1 copy of the game, it basically downloads a minimal version of the game from the host so others can play.

Ah right, pretty cool feature I wasn't aware of that. Thanks.

No. As split screen play is now possible they've removed that feature.

What are most planning to do first when picking this up then?
Are you going to be getting familiar with the tracks in single player, hopping straight online or having some local multiplayer / battle mode?
I suppose much of it depends if you've already played it on the WiiU.

I haven't touched a Mario Kart since Mario Kart 64 and a brief go on the arcade version, so I'll be going through all the cups and getting familiar with it again - I'm not used to having a choice of vehicle and parts, never mind so many characters now! (which character btw?) :)

In the evening it'll be 2 player with the gf - most likely being accused of having an un-fair advantage due to having the day off work and playing a bit more than her. :)

Just jump straight online and crush some spirits :D

I can see how your sig might have been inspired then - Kreeeeee.e.e..e.....e! :)

Anyone have any idea if there's any way to create a custom cup at all?
I.E. to be able to pick your 4 favourite tracks to race in a cup, rather than the set ones or is the best we have some sort of random track selection option?

P.S. I think that separate Mario Kart thread is needed now. :)

So I ordered Puyo Puyo Tetris from Game yesterday....Great news my TWO copies of Tetris will be here tomorrow. Looks like I have been charged for two games.

The first time I tried to order the game it said it was not successful on my card so I tried again. No it appears they were both successful so I am paying for two games!

So great news on the sales front...

Switch has sold 2.74 Million units in less than a month and Zelda for Switch has sold 2.76 Million...20,000 more than the Switch itself :p

IGN said:
Nintendo has announced that its new Switch console sold 2.74 million units worldwide in less than its first month on sale.

Nintendo announced the figure in its year-end earnings release, which it calls a "promising start" for the console. Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima originally expected to ship 2 million units of the console in its first month.

It also revealed that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for Switch has sold 2.76 million copies - meaning 20,000 more units of Zelda have been sold than there are Switches in the wild.

Perhaps tellingly, Nintendo also pointed out launch game 1-2 Switch, saying that it was "generating buzz", but did not reveal sales figures.

Nintendo expects to sell 10 million units of Switch hardware in the next year, alongside 35 million software sales. If that came to pass, the Switch would come close to outselling the Wii U's 13.56 million lifetime sales in just over a year.

The Wii U itself has not fared well, selling just 760,000 units as it ceased production, alongside software sales of 14.8 million units. As for Zelda on Wii U, the game has so far sold 1.08 million units - bringing it up to 3.84 million units across all platforms.

It's been a good year for 3DS, however, as sales of hardware grew 7% year-on-year, shifting 7.27 million units, while software sales hit 55.08 million units (a 14% rise on last year).

The company's foray into smart device games also appears to be paying off, making just shy of ¥24.25 billion (approximately $218 million USD / £160 million) - well over four times as much as it made in the last financial year.

All in all it's just great to hear (probably posted earlier on).
