I just observe the console market now. As an outsider looking in, the Switch is an extremely hard sell for consumers like myself. For example, if i wanted to play some new Nintendo games like Breath of the Wild, having to pay £300+ (handheld+games) for the privilege is an extremely hard pill to swallow.
The Church of Nintendo members will always buy these systems. But for those of us that maybe want to dip our toe in and try Nintendo games, the price is extremely off putting.

Sigh, there is always one...you're missing the point of my post and comparing apples to oranges. You need to buy Nintendo hardware to play Nintendo games. Therefore, it's extremely expensive if you just want to try their games.
