What screen protector do you all use? I don't trust the dock what so ever when sliding it in, and the fact I haven't touched the screen yet as trying to rub the smudges off with a bit of cloth and seeing microscratches would kill me after shelling out on this thing

Cheers.

I had a pack of the orzly ones which I thought were great. That said, any trapped dust, hairs or bubbles winds me up no end. Despite doing it in a steamy bathroom, the sheer size of the screen means you get at least one unless your lucky.

I've since removed it and not bothered. The switch sits in a case, and I never use the dock. You can buy a younik cable which is designed to use the switch docked, without actually sitting it in.

I'll get a case in due time as I'd like to take the thing out with me, As long as the screen is protected i'm not too bothered docking it as it'll avoid getting it scratched.

It's rare so far i've used the dock but seeing Mario on the big screen, the graphics are jaw dropping for a Nintendo game, can't wait to get Breath of the Wild bet that game looks amazing.

That cable actually looks useful, i'll be getting that as well, cheers Oracle.

ORZLY ones fit a lot better than the AmFilm ones.

Whichever one you get, make sure it's tempered glass.

Having had both I couldn't agree less, plus the amfilm had the tabs which made it easy to apply. I do admit the hinge method is also affective however.

Glad you're enjoying it. Zelda is sublime. I kind of envy you, I wish I was playing it again for the first time. You have sooo much to learn and discover!

I had one of those wow moments and it was so simple. There was a fair gap between two land masses you couldnt jump, there was an obvious path to walk between which would have taken a minute or so. I decided to see if I could blow up a tree, and I did and the tree bridged the gap. This wasn't any kind of special secret, just a use of the mechanics.

In my OZRLY Travel case one of the elastic straps has broken. Time to get the super glue out :p

Rest of the case holds up well though :)

I've had both. I'm not sure how having less than 0.5mm border around all edges vs roughly cut to the right shape and leaving lots of the screen exposed leaves any room for debate, unless you applied it poorly.

Ordered the Orzly tempered glass protector, cheers guys.

I have put a few of these on now and I would recommend that you don't play your system in docked mode for a good few hours to let the adhesive set properly and to not risk any small air pockets forming from the heat.

Also I use this method to apply the protector and works like a charm,

Must be talking about different amfilm protectors then as mine covers the whole screen. Plus the Ozrly ones I got (x4) all came with dust preinstalled which was a shame.

Maybe they did a sneaky revision?

I've never had a case with elastics that lasted. They always sag or break so I always cut them out now.
Yeah likewise, but hey its 10 seconds to glue it back down. I make use of them so why not. I do want to eventually replace it with a super swanky one from America for around €80 but I'll make sure I get my use out of it before I do that.

Ah, there are two ORZLY ones. One is a rubbish plastic one and the other is tempered glass. Maybe you had the former while I have the later.

The AmFilm one I had was on day one, so maybe they revised their design since then. Mine did not go right to the edges of the glossy black screen border all around the border.

It would be good to know so I can make sure the advice I give is accurate.

Edit: I can confirm the AmFilm ones I see on YouTube are a different design to the one I had, and match the ORZLY as far as I can see.

I shall have a close look when home to make sure I'm not talking out my backside. I have no shame being wrong but I'm sure it was a really perfect fit to the edge. The Ozrly one I had was:

Screen Protector Nintendo Switch - Orzly Premium Tempered Glass [0.24mm] Screen Protector TWIN Pack [2 x Screen Guards] for 6.2 Inch Tablet Screen on Nintendo Switch Console

Be good to try get some comparison shots!

I got some shots. Now it's not a perfect fit by myself but damn close. I suspected something was amiss as you said it was roughly cut and this is pretty much on the money despite my less than perfect install.

So I think we can agree you cannot go wrong with either. I simply preferred the AM due to the tabs you can hold when applying but both will clearly suit the intended purpose!
