*** Nintendo Switch ***

Its a problem with the Switch itself, likely the Wifi chip. Kree went through a lot trying to get Nintendo to own it and replace the wifi chip, but they wouldn't. So he bought a 2nd new Switch, confirmed it didn't have the issue. Transferred his data then returned the original.

My Joycon issues were caused by a faulty Switch console. Nintendo did nothing even after sending it in to repair twice so I returned it to Amazon and bought a new one. All my Joycons worked perfectly on the new console.

Edit: What Phate said :p

My pro controller was also fine on both systems. I bet you get poor WiFi signal too on your Switch.

Mine is strange, it gets good wifi around the house (on 2.4ghz and 5ghz) but i get some intermittent right joy con issues.

I'm going to buy a 2nd set before deciding if its the console itself. Recently I am only using the pro controller so not noticing it. But I haven't been playing Splatoon 2 lately either :p

How long after you got it did you return it? It feels like its been too long now for me to do what you have done.

I will get a second console to test if I have to but it does seem like its not the joycons. People on reddit claim that a properly working console has a range of 20m or more on working joycons.

To be fair I have never had issues with internet but its either about 2ft from a ridiculously powerful router or its in the bedroom about 20ft away and I don't think i have played any online from there.

I finished the demo of Dragon Quest Builders...have to say...REALLY like it. I want it.

Is it eshop only?

Physical too it seems, noticed it was up for pre-order on Nintendo UK store.

I'll have to give the demo a try this weekend, keep hearing about it but have no idea what its all about.

Played it this morning. Decent demo. Hmm with everything else I might not get it right away but it's definitely got me interested in it. I'm not a fan of Minecraft but this has much more on offer for me.

Indeed. Minecraft never appealed to me... But this intrigued me. Plus the RPG elements were very fun!

Just finished it now as well. Tempted to buy it. I like the fact the game has a purpose; I usually get bored of sandbox games quite quickly.

It's nice when games have a good demo. A decent chunk of the game. Makes me a lot more likely to buy TBH.

Agree on both points. I am unsure about Mario + Rabbids. If there is ever a demo I'll try it straight away.

Dragon Quest Builders can be had for €37/£33 via the South African store, currently the best price for it. This I think is pretty good and certainly a yes. :)

Although, that being said. I am a stickler for Physical games. I'll see if the stores here in PT are doing any pre-order discounts like they usually do. If not it will be my first big e-shop purchase.

Does else anyone find Mario Odyssey absolutely rips through their Switch battery?

Its one of the most intensive games, so yes it does. Both Mario & Zelda can kill the battery in around 3hrs depending on screen brightness. Stuff like Snake Pass/Death Squared are 5-6 hours ish. Not done exact measurements but that seems to be what I vaguely remember :p

Mario + Rabbids is great. I completed it last night and can definitely see why it's received such high praise. It really is worth picking up.

I really hope they do a sequel, or event branch out on the Mario + Rabbids concept a bit with other genres of game. The pairing does both franchises a favour.

I have heard nothing but praise. I don't doubt it's a good game. But these kind of games don't normally agree with me. Hence wanting to try before I buy :)

Like Project Octopath for example. I am not JRPG person. But I loved the demo, will be buying it on release!

They have announced donkey Kong DLC:D

Does anyone have any idea if they plan on releasing old console titles, such as from the Zelda franchise (a link to the past, wind walker etc) or the old Marios, Id be all over a compilation of these on the Switch, its a brilliant console.
