*** Nintendo Switch ***

The Switch was a rush job from the start. The fact that they didn't have a lot of the essentials in place at launch only denotes that.

I don't know what's more laughable, Nintendo charging for online or bawbags over at Resetera (NeoGaf 2.0) claiming the Switch is going to sell over 100m.

I love your extreme overreaction. I'm not saying you're wrong, but you're acting like Nintendo have just pooped through your letterbox :p

Not sure what part of that post was extreme. Their current online is **** compared to the competition, thats a simple fact. My console also has issues with general wireless connectivity to the point where if I don't have a very direct and unbroken line of sight to my switch from 8 feet away the joycons don't work.

It doesn't feel like an overreaction to say that in this day and age and with the money Nintendo have, they should be able to fix a hardware issue without the risk of nuking all your save data. That should be a day one feature.

Why would resolving a WiFi issue result in data loss?
Nintendo warn that your data is at risk for all repairs. It should only be a problem if they cannot transfer the data such as the system being dead.

The lack of cloud saves or being able to back them up makes me a bit concerned about losing everything if my Switch dies. Not enough to start flipping tables over though :p

You never know what may happen. If the Switch gets lost in the post, damaged in transit, or something goes wrong during repair, you'll get a replacement console, sans save files.

There should be a USB back-up option at the very least.

To be honest, I like the Switch but it's difficult to argue that it isn't somewhat half-baked. It's missing features that have been standard on previous Nintendo consoles. And it's missing features that have been standard on other platforms since the Xbox 360 launched in 2005. It's a bit odd.

It doesn't stop it being an excellent games machine, but the Switch certainly falls short of its potential.

They say this to cover their own backsides, let's be realistic though. The Switch isn't dead so the chances of them actually losing the data is pretty slim.

But hey, I respect why someone might not send it in due to data loss worries. Depends on how much the WiFi issues annoy you really :)

£20 on the eshop burning a hole in my pocket, what to spend it on...? Is Celeste really worth the £17 price tag?

Sorry but I cant see anything extreme about that. It *is* rubbish compared to the other two and they *do* really need to sort out cloud saves. Just saying what we are all thinking at this point in a manor that was'nt even ranty.

I sold my Switch a while back, but I'm still curious if there's an ETA for the virtual console?

Its been reported on twitter today (or thats when I read it at least) that there will not be a "virtual console" as such and NES/SNES games will all be downloadable via a subscription service. From what I understand they will all be "free", sans a monthly fee for the service.

Multiple 9 and even 10 out of 10s seem to suggest its a classic. What I like is there are multiple sliders in game to alter speed, etec, so you can fully customise how hard or easy the game can be for you. A genius idea IMO rather than just having an easy/medium/hard option.

As I very clearly stated, I don't disagree.
