*** Nintendo Switch ***

Just picked up a brand new Nintendo Switch for £213.98 delivered which seemed too good to pass up. The console arrived today so I need some games! My kids are aged 5, 7 and 8 so please recommend some suitable games, Mario Kart is top of the list but any others I need to get? Thanks.

Just ordered one of these from America been waiting for one of them to come out for ages that add a ‘proper’ controller feel to play the switch in handheld , gets really good reviews everywhere so looking forward to getting it :)

Is anyone setting up or got a space on a family group? I was with kreeeee for a while but as he said that family group has ended.

I was going to but recently took advantage of the Twitch deal. Worth checking if you have Rainforest Prime, as its included.

You get 3 months online free, then they give you another 9 months after that. Weird way of doing it. It was right near the end of the offer running out mind so may be too late, worth a quick google

Was thinking of picking up a PS4 Pro to replace my incredibly loud launch model in preperation for games like TLOU2 and CyberPunk.
Now thinking I might actually pick up a new model Switch instead as the kids are currently hogging my one and I can't get a look in. :D

Might be worth replacing the thermal paste on your Ps4, it done wonders for my Xbox one x. It's like a new machine.

Is the standard 256gb SanDisk micro sd okay with the switch? They have the Nintendo switch sd cards made by SanDisk anyway but they are pricier, would rather go more storage for less.

Thanks for the game suggestions so far. Any other essentials bits and pieces you guys recommend? I'm gonna order a dock cover as I've heard the screen may get scratched otherwise?

Yes it is fine for the SD card.

A dock cover will heat up the switch, you need a tempered glass screen protector.

Don't use pixel perfect mode on any LCD screen, it only exists for those using CRT TVs. It will look very different to how it should look as all CRT TVs displayed the SNES with horizontally stretched pixels.

The games were all developed to be displayed with this in mind and they will look squashed of you display then in pixel perfect mode and don't use a CRT.

4:3 is squashed pp isn't. On the Switch screen at least.

From my limited understanding all pp does is make the pixel a perfect square, making the image look as the developer intended. 4:3 gives a horizontal stretch to the image which I am not a fan of even though it's a more accurate representation of how it used to look. I only play this stuff handheld. I've only played alttp through it and it looks perfect to me. Not tried any others yet.

Cheers Kreeeee, how are you pal?

Few more questions:

1) Download games or buy physical copies?
2) Any free games available? (worthwhile free games).
3) I need 2 more pads for 4 player mode, any particular ones you guys recommend? Maybe some sort of adult sized controller for when I get time to play on my own??

Physical games are normally cheaper and you can sell them on. Download Indie games or games on sale that are cheaper than physical.

Fortnight et al are all on switch if that’s your thing.

Pro controller. (Seriously, get one).
