*** Nintendo Switch ***

Games Inc saves are tied to the device. You need to purchase the game per device.

That's an advantage of carts.

Even though Nintendo are an ******** of a company, i'd like to play Mario Odyssey. Ah well, i'll wait until the system is a) emulated or b) can be picked up at some point from my local indie store for under £100.

**** spending £300+ to play one game.

Good luck with both of those.

'I'm not £300+ to play one game... I'll just wait till I can steal it'

If he is only interested in one game. Then the console is not worth it. As is with any console or system for "just one game"

It's another Switch for someone who is interested in buying it :)

Not quite. Games are available to the registered device on the account which made the purchase. If you sell your machine, then buy another one you can download the game again. Just ensure you deactivate the old console and activate the new one.

What I'm unsure about is this

Register ConsoleA with account, download game
Deactivate ConsoleA
Active ConsoleB with same account and download game

Will the game still work on ConsoleA? I have heard people using multiple accounts to use foreign eshops to really not sure

ok, it's a no no

The switch is brilliant, I've put more hours into rabbits odessey and mario kart than I've played on the ps4 and xbone combined. Also my kids love then too.

Great console. Some retro Nintendo games into HD would be awesome also (zelda link to the past!)

Doubt we will see that yet for at least this side of Christmas, with the SNES Mini selling out everywhere still, they would want to milk that cow for all its worth but I agree, VC on the Switch would be SOOOOOOO sweet. It really is a great console, I had reservations at first, worry it would just be another Wii U but the 3rd party support is gathering momentum and I am so glad there are alternative to gaming than just the PS3/XB1 variant.

So whats the latest on 3rd party dock solutions for TV except for the official Nintendo one?

Don't do it is the answer. The only ones released have been frying consoles, and all the future ones planned use the same chip set.

I will be getting a second official dock and 3D printing a small portable dock to put the guts into.

I thought as much that this would happen, thanks K. Any recent sources you come across regarding fried Switches? Isnt the Nyko one going to be safe? (But to be honest, I can see it for £45. I would rather splash another £25 and get the official one).

Are there no "safe" adaptors which I can use on a hotel TV for example? It would be great to be able to play whilst away from home on a big screen.

On another note... I was on my return flight from Shanghai last Friday, playing some Zelda (yes I haven't finished it yet).

One of the things which I am starting to begin to break out of.... there is no single way of finishing Zelda, you can do it in anyway you want.....

38,000 feet up in the air.... and playing one of the best games of all time with such level of immersion and freedom. Pure epic.

E: Hmm this is interesting!

The official one is still the safest, not sure what secret juice they put in that there still isn’t a decent 3rd party one out.

But then, if I’m travelling, the last thing I want to be doing is lock up in a hotel room playing video games, handheld mode is enough for me to play whilst I’m away from home. But that’s just me.

The circuitry inside is all so simple to access and remove. It's just a few screws and some connectors.
