I use those Orzly products and I can highly recommend them. Make sure you get the updated version of the case with the zip pocket and extra game slots though.

I stopped using the sleeve because it made the Switch run rather hot especially with the thicker glass screen protector. It's a moot point now though as I use a 3D printed mini dock.

Thanks! Mario sock ordered! This Switch is going to be used by my daughter and looking at the state of her DS it will be needed. She probably won't use it on the TV much but she's hardly the most careful of gamers
 
TBH whilst the heat concern is valid for all electronic devices I've been running mine in the normal dock with the OZRLY Tempered screeen protector and sock I linked you and have played hundreds of hours with it docked with no issue, and I live in Portugal :p

Also some youtubers have deliberately overheated the thing. it will Switch itself off before it causes any permenant damage. Its fine. It might get a little warm but my phone gets hotter everyday and that still functions just fine :D - if you like the sock for asthetic reasons, then crack on.

buggers - i know i should have turned away and stopped reading the thread.

found myself ordering a switch and mario. got john lewis to price match grainger games so £248 for the switch and mario is currently £34 at the game collection.

can anyone recommend a good screen protector and will it work with a protector in the dock
 
I thought people were perhaps being a bit melodramatic re: the graphics in Xeno 2 in handheld mode but good god, they're terrible :eek: It's definitely a game that should be played on the big screen where possible!

It's safe (probably), it just lowers the clocks on the GPU without any notification when it gets warm which is annoying when you notice it.

Your phone will also lower the CPU frequency when hot but again you probably don't notice it.

It's quite the blurry mess in populated areas especially yet on the tv it's a massive difference

Added the following system functionality
  • Facebook and Twitter friends that also use Nintendo Switch can now be added through Friend Suggestions
    • Friend suggestions are based on the Facebook and Twitter accounts you have linked to your Nintendo Account
    • To view your friend suggestions, from the top left of the HOME Menu head to your User Page > Friend Suggestions
    • You must be 13 or older to use this feature
  • Select from 24 new ARMS and the Kirbyseries icons for your user
    • To edit your user icon, head to your My Page on the top left of the Home Menu > Profile
  • Digital software purchases made from a PC or smart device will start downloading sooner than previously, even if the Nintendo Switch console is in Sleep Mode
  • Filter News to view only unread news or news from specific channels
  • To keep the Parental Controls PIN private, the default method for PIN entry has been changed to entering using the Control Stick and buttons instead of the on-screen number pad
    • When prompted to enter you Parental Controls PIN, press and hold the + Button to change between input methods

And for the record, I actually dont want this functionality on the Switch. I want my gaming console to be for games. I've got more than enough devices which can access the above services.

Yeah I agree on this. The beauty of the switch is that it's a pure games console. It's not a jack of all trades.
Please don't turn it into a media tablet. Really don't want stuff like a web browser, netflix etc etc.... In fact, I don't even want that social media crud. Basic menu to get me into the games will do thanks.

I have an xbox x, and the OS is a total disaster.

Bingo! Spot on mate, I feel exactly the same. Though I don't have an Xbox, the beauty of the Switch is its simplicity, you don't get distracted by all the crud the other consoles have.

I don't play the xbox much, but everytime I do they've changed it. Just finding my games is hassle. If I had £1 for everytime I've seen that bloody major nelson fella lol

There are a few things that they still need to do. Its been a year now since it was released and they still don't have some very important things.
 
I would rather that they added movie and music functionality. Don't care much about social media or browser. At the moment I have my music collection in my SD card in my phone, Netflix on the ipad and games on the switch. It'd be much easier to just take the switch and be able to do all of the above.
