*** Nintendo Switch ***

I've been playing Paper Mario: The Origami King. It's incredible how long this game. I've played it for days on end and still can't see the end in sight.

That game outstayed its welcome for me, I loved the visual styling but the gameplay barely changes from the first hour until the last. I got to the point where I wished I could skip the battles as they were so repetitive by the end.

Admittedly I’m finding them really boring as well. I’m at the stage (well, long ago) where I just keep smashing the button and it eventually wins it.

This fix lasted less than a year :p Nintendo really aren't great at securing their devices. Xbox One has been out for 7 years and is still secure. All three Switch revisions were blown wide open in around a year from launch

I wasn’t aware of that, I’m well out of the home brew scene.

Problem is when you start to be successful it brings attention to yourself.

My launch Switch died last year and I bought a Lite when it launched. Just bought a V2 Switch as I was missing the TV play. Feels good to have this back! Enjoying the larger screen size. Old old news, but undocked the battery life increase is brilliant! Runs noticeably cooler also.

100%'d Mario 64 tonight. Only 24 years overdue! When I was a kid I couldn't get past around 107-109 stars or thereabouts.

Tonight, I finished it, then finally got to go see Yoshi. Ha!

Anyone here playing Hades on the Switch? What a game! The story is fantastic, artwork is amazing, and the soundtrack goes great with the epic combat! It's well worth a purchase for anyone that fancies a roguelike dungeon crawler! You feel like an absolute badass when you pull off some awesome moves in that game!

Yup, it's a great game but I'm rubbish at it - the difficulty really ramps up in Elysium. Love the artwork, audio and narrative, though.

I had a couple of goes at the first boss in Hades. Dead every time.

I beat her last night. It very much depends on what boons you get on your run through. Before I faced her, I was feeling noticeably stronger.

If you're struggling, use the God Mode option. It can be toggled on and off whenever you like, and it doesn't make the game easier, it just makes you stronger everytime you die. It's quite a clever implementation.

I've given up on it honestly. I never had an N64 and after playing it on the Switch I realised that I have seen a sum total of about 4 levels. I'm not keen on the way you have to find your way around the castle to progress and the controls are god awful when you need to be precise.

I have moved onto sunshine and its 100x better. Another game I didn't really play when it first came out but I am loving it. The vibe of the game is amazing. Controls are generally really good and the movement system is so satisfying. The only thing I haven't enjoyed about it is the occasional level where FLUDD is taken from you. Haven't found any bugs yet either which is what a lot of people complain about.

Thanks. I feel like I'm improving every time and the bow seems better on this boss I've got her down to around 25% but then the phase change and adds finish me off. Just need to manage the adds a bit better. I'll get her soon. It is a good game though. They've taken most of what is cool from other roguelikes/lites (Dead Cells mostly) and improved upon it. It's a lot of fun.

I will buy it the second it goes on sale.

I took delivery today of the Split Pad Pro for £36.99 in the new blue colour. This thing is so comfortable! Really nice build quality and very smooth analogue sticks. The fact it turns the Switch in to an absolute boat is a moot point when playing around the house. Only wish it had rumble.
