So helpful some you, not. Tell me something I don't know. It was unmarked cop car with tinted windows. Not something I do normally, but he was driving really slow. Probably to encourage me to be stupid. Can anyone give me a reasonable answer to my question, or am I just going to get smart ass comments?

Bad signs would presumably be if the driving caused or nearly caused an accident and whether the case is going to be prosecuted in court.

I'd have thought with a username like Scania, you'd be the last person to be turning a blind eye to drivers pulling in front of you and reducing your safe braking distance? :cry:

The police will send the Offence Report to an admin centre where it will be uploaded and a decision will be made on the penalty and you will be written to.

I believe that (in Essex at least) that would result in a Course Offer, or, if you've had a Course within the last 3 years it will be a fine and points.

I had to take a Course a few years ago and the cost was £175 but no points on my licence. I could have taken a £100 fine and 3 points if I had wanted to.

It's just a minor traffic offence.

There's merging when there's safe space to do so, and there's cutting people up... we don't know which is which, but presumably the dash cam in the police car will show it quite clearly, hence the NIP.

Fair enough but I think the key point will be proof of excessively slow speed, which as you say would require a dash cam. The OP says the traffic was slow moving, so I imagine it would be hard to justify.

Just about to hit the order button on a dash cam for new can next week, fed up of red light ignoring loonies and people who can't keep in lane
