No england shirts/flags?

You can't wear football colors in some establishments. Dunno if it applies to England stuff though.

it does

and thats how this whole rumour started. one guy said to the sun he wouldnt let footy strips in his pub . he has ALWAYS had that rule and he probably said he has used the police to enforce it before . then they reported it in a moronic way and now the whole chavnation thinks ''foreigners hate england flags'' etc etc. the police would always advise a landlord to not let footy colours in if they where asking for a way to avoid violence.

World cup in 2006 even in my quiet old town we wasnt allowed to walk into some pubs with England shirts on when England played, no surprise if some places have a "dress code" during certain days of the World cup, Scotland, Brazil, Italy etc shirts were fine though.

I would like to see the police enter a pub on game night to try and take England flag down, Que Riot.

doubtful. most people would leave and a few drunks would get a beatdown . ever been in a pub when the riot police have turned up ? no one sticks around long...:o:p

Why do people just blatently lie?

All this has come from is the fact that police in a certain area have given advice to some pubs/clubs in their region to not allow ANY shirts to be worn an hour after the game to avoid conflict between certain sets of fans.

Obviously if we go out to italy in a semi-final.. and theres a bunch of italian fans out in the pubs for a match, the last thing they want is for them to get their heads kicked in by a large crowd of england fans.

No one has said you're not allowed to wear england shirts during the games, it's just thick individuals on facebook making blatent lies, and rumours spread like wildfire.

Most clubs won't allow you to wear football shirts on a night out? So they're just reinforcing this, asking pubs not to allow people to wear shirts during the night after the england matches.

i love that certain racist chavvy communities think that foreigners and muslims all must automatically hate our country and want our flags/shirts banning anyway . most of them are here because they like the place...

Wouldn't actually bother me that much if they did, I've always hated it when its a world cup, all the hooligans start putting flags on their cars and start hooting everytime they see another English flag.

National pride has always been a real daft thing to me. I can understand people coming together to watch England play in the World Cup but beyond wearing the shirt, I do cringe at the sort of behaviour you see with flags etc.

This isn't just an English thing quite obviously. Hell, some of my own Irish people are the worst on the planet with all their 'proud to be Irish' and 'celtic warrior' nonsense.

It's pot-luck where you are born in the world. Be thankful, yes (if you ended up somewhere prosperous), come together with your fellow countrymen and women for current events but don't celebrate over your country and wave flags around like you actually had a choice with your nationality. :D

As for the issue itself. It's obviously a major exaggeration.

Hear hear!

Worst thing are those stupid flags, with the text England on them. One thing having a national flag (fine) having one where you print the country name on it = fail.

Oh I agree. The funniest thing I find is the people who drive around with those stupid flags on their cars, automatically makes me think **** (replace that with your 4 letter word of choice, I'm not fussy). Thankfully I then know to avoid them since they're also usually the idiots who have no concept of lane discipline, indicating, maintaining a suitable speed, or any of the other skills which are useful when driving. </sweepingGeneralisation>
