No GT5 until 2009...!!!

Whats got my goat late last night when posting was seeing in general nothiing but whinging and negativity towards the game. I havnt intsulted or targeted anyone. Also Joebob you well know i criticise Sony over many things.
So far for what Prolouge offers i have great expectations for the final release.

Many of the people here posting havnt played GT5P when they do (particulary if using a wheel) they will understand more my appreciation of it.

Regards GT4 PSP
I agree it was used to sell the PSP but it also goes to show how small of a developer Polyophoney Digital are that they cant co develop both PSP and PS3 versions. They needed to concentrate soley on one. It hasnt been in development since proper develoment of GT5 began its been halted.

Am I missing something? when did Polyphony say it was going to be released in 2008?

I remember several 'stories' about it being 2008, for example..
http://www.n4g.com/ps3/News-58315.aspx that said July for Japan which would make europe in 2008?
earlier
http://ps3.ign.com/articles/644/644554p1.html 'hoped' to be 2007...

I think it's easy to see where we all 'think' that's its going to be sooner rather then later.

Everyone needs to stop throwing their toys out of the pram and get GT5p
No-one's throwing toys out of prams, people are just showing a little dismay at what seems to be such a common event, some key games being constantly delayed on the PS3, to get pedantic and say no official dates have been set, the hype and therefor expectation have been announced in previous years..

I'm awaiting the UK GT5P myself, but I'd still have preferred to have the full thing last year, never mind next year..

Is it just me, or are you taking his and other peoples comments a little too far?

I don't really see anything in here which justifies your 2 posts, just people disappointed that GT5 is not going to be out for such a long time.

Id of assumed most gamers on here had an idea it wasnt coming anytime soon. Firstly Prolouge was announced ages ago, theirs been many threads since and some recently discussing possible release dates for both the full game and Prolouge. Games sites may have mentioned possible time frames or asked developers in interviews approx release time but as far as im aware theirs been no offical comment on release date from Sony nor Polyphoney Digital.

The thead if anything is misleading because its made to make people assume the game has been offically anounced as being delayed, when actually it hasnt at all. Already weve had the posts now criticising and a few wise cracks because the thread title isnt accurate.

OK fair enough, but it seemed like you were attacking my posts in particular. I'm not whinging, I love GT5p and can't wait for GT5, but I'm a little dissapointed and frustrated at having to wait - that's all, no need to get on my back about it!

The OP just regurgitated some 'media' reaction to a possible UK release date, this reporting of 'news' is what starts most threads on here.. if they are dissappointed why shouldn't anyone else?? just because it doesn't fit with a game you like it doesn't mean it's worthless.

The only negativity is that the game is taking too long to develop, from your replies you'd think people where saying it's a crap game.. no one here has in the slightest, I'd pop off to the doctor and ask for some happy pills, and while you are there, get some for me ;)

I just copied the thread title from Kotaku really... didn't put any thought into it at all and I certainly didn't do it to mislead anyone.!!!

I'd like to have ff13, GOW3, Res 2, Motorstorm 2 now but its not happening lol.
To me this news article is just a way to sell GT5P, if you knew GT5 was coming out in say 6 months you probably wouldnt bother getting GT5P, but if you thought it was over a year then it probably would sway you to buy it. Same for game stores stocking games if they think the demand will be higher because of the delay of GT5 then they will stock more copies of the game.
There was talk of it being a 2008 release it still might be in Japan, but it was never confirmed and was just talk, but id rather have a great game thats taking its time than a rushed poor one.
Think you will find "key" game delays happen to all systems , Halo 3 was supposed to be out Nov 06 ( and also March 07 ) to counter the PS3 launch, Alan wake was also supposed to be an 07 release, but its still MIA. Smash brothers was supposed to be out before Christmas 07, its now not coming to the UK till June etc, etc. To be honest I cant think of many games that have met there earlier announced release dates, there's a few that were close Ratchet and Clank was within a week of its first announced date but thats the exception rather than the norm.
Some take release dates from online game stores as confirmed dates, most of the time they are not, there just to gain interest and pre orders.

That's not quite what I meant :) just GT's development has been a right old 'saga' with a canned GT:HD etc which by circumstance has led to us being devoid of a racing sim on the PS3 for sometime.. I know it's coming, I know it'll be great, but it's been no fun 'waiting'..

Im not saying you did. You knew however it would create knee-jerk reactions followed by probable retaliation from GT fans and id be surprised if you found it as shockin . All ive been saying is the report is inaccurate, misleading and already several have went boo hoo over it already.

Isnt the Top Gear test track in GT5? Would be sweet to compare real life times, star in a reasonably priced car etc. :D

do ppl who like this series not wish for realistic car model damage?

i mean essentially you are driving an indestructible cube around a track without it :(

thats why i never liked GT

The lack of damage modelling in GT games has never bothered me tbh. I love games like Burnout and Motorstorm for that kind of thing, but GT games are all about the racing for me. Wouldn't have bothered me the slightest if the damage modelling was missing from Forza2 either, obviousley it was better with it there but it wouldn't have changed the gameplay had it not been.

Theyve been keeping on track (pun intended) with this title much better than previous games.
GT5P actually released on the 18th of December so was only 5 days late to its planned release date.
