NVIDIA card are the best for folding ! As it earn more points - I am upset my love of my gtx 260 had gone dead after 8 years sob sob, very good graphic card!
 
didnt you try to bake it? seems people try this? youve got nothing to loose, if you have games on the pc youve paid cash for and want to play them, worth trying.

8 years is good going for a gpu isnt it?

ocuk had some VERY cheap refurbished gpus but there all sold, gtx 460 , 470 & 480 was at silly cheap prices. between like £40 and £80

Ozaudio, give the recruitment drivea bit of a rest, i'd also advise not using the trust system to contact people, thats only supposed to be used for the members market transactions really.

Feel free to discuss it openly in the other relevant forum sections, or make a facy recruitment Sig :) but you've already had one warning from the Dons about it and it'd hate to see you lose your form access over this.

Your enthusiasm is admirable, and we welcome all and any who want to join in on any of our teams using whatever hardware they wish. Hopefully we haven't alienated anyone, and this Post doesn't either :)
 
My 8800GTX is 8 years old I think, it died but still going after I baked it in the oven! Don't think I'll put it on for folding though. :p

i know what you mean he sent me a message to asking if i'll join, and a few others i know, cut it out ozaudio. oh errr ye, thats me! :)


on another note, when QRB for gpu comes in loudbob will sure be in for a treat with all his gpus! , does anybody know if/when its been added
 
I haven't got much time or money to fold, however as I said I shall were possible. Been folding since 12 on GPU + CPU and will carry on til 10pm.

My PPD is now 44K for [email protected] (100% usage) + GPU @ 1202/1500... This seems low?! I used to get 40K on the GPU alone!...

Anyway I'm extremely happy with my machine now, folding is a good way to stress test and HWMonitor states my max temps on CPU is 59 on the hottest core, 54 on the coolest and sits around 55 average. GPU sits at 58'C, 59'C max. Not even hitting 60!!! :D
 
My GPU is for gaming only lol. My CPU is delidded so is nice and cool, my 7970 isn't worth it from what I can gather.

10K PPD so far from my 4.5 3570K. It goes up and down depending on if I've been gaming or not.

Love the Gigabyte Ultra Durable 5 ^^ or w/e number UP4 TH has the PWM temps are 52c all day long with CPU at 60.

I recently noticed this too the past 2 days, I run SMP+GPU+GPU overnight for min 8 hours - max 12 hours and have been getting a paltry 2,200 points for each WU when I have since the beginning of December got 14~15K.

Nothing has changed bar driver update to R310.90 or been adjusted my end so I hope it picks up from huge drop. I get 55K PPD for every 12 hour run per day and this drop in WU points means I'm down 75%.

Does selecting a particular cause affect the quality if better WU dry up?
