No Man’s Sky Next

Well, that's just ******* ********

I find a crashed ship. Pretty banged up, lots of repairs needed, but I figure I'll spend some time to get it spaceworthy so I claim it and spend the next 5 to 6 hours mining stuff and eventually get it to about 70% fixed.
Then I tootle off to find more resources and don't dome back to the game for a couple of days.

When I return (and after suffering plenty of crashes) the ship is gone. WTF !!!
And yes, I turned off multiplayer and even if I hadn't, I claimed the ship, right?

Thanks for those wasted hours Hello Games. Gonna contact their customer support now and ask for a new ship or enough units to buy one.
I'm not happy with those wasted hours.

Tip.

If you find a crashed ship you like, just fix the main components, thrusters and so on, just the core parts so you can fly.
Fly straight to a space station and wait for the exact ship or similar and exchange for free or a small fee depending on differences.
Saves all that time repairing other parts of the ship.

Well, bloodiedathame was right, it was in the summon menu, but I still call maximum BS on this because...

1) After travelling all over the planet and even offworld, that ship had previously not moved an inch and ...
2) It was right next to my base on purpose so I could always go back to it and it was always there in among the rubble of the wreck.
3) The game had also previously taught me that ships with no fuel cannot be summoned so of course, why the hell would I try to summon it since I never fuelled it?
4) And even when owning 1 ship, it was always ALWAYS ALWAYS where I left it.

Also after finding it in the summon menu it could NOT be summoned, until I'd gotten in and out of my other ship a couple of times.

Like I say, the whole situation is BS. I kinda still don't even want to go back any play anymore after this nonsense. :(

(also I'm aware of the ship trade thing, but I didn't want to. I kinda wanted to do a restoration on the one I found :) )

Yeah, I think there should be something done about that, because its kind of an exploit, saying that I really don't see the point in having to grind many resources just to fix loads of the ships storage slots. They might as well just be fixed and just the ships main components that need fixing.

I found a 31slot A class like that, but it's value was vastly reduced, like only about 4.8 million, and it was listed as only 12/31 slots...so it looks to me like it's been fixed.

I don't mind having to work to fix it up. I'm not in a hurry in NMS :)

I'm genuinely loving this. I usually hardly bother with games as i can't get into them or they just seem repetitive, even when i know they're objectively great and wondrous and i should love them more. But this has fully immersed me in its world. There just seems to be unlimited stuff to do and the quests make sense and are rewarding.

Warping to a new system...that moment that the warp stops and you're floating there in a hitherto unexplored solar system and there are several planets to descend to and explore....it's just a great experience for me so far.

I do wish i had more money and stuff though. And i hate the sentinels....i really don't see the point in them and i wish they could be turned off.

Does anyone play on the sandbox mode?

I got a Platinum on the game quite a while ago, decided to play again last night to see what the additions added.
I was only starting a standard game, yet every single starting planet was hazardous to the point that by the time the start process had completed my protection was down to about a quarter. With your ship nowhere in site, so you cannot even get immediate environmental shelter.
Certainly when I played it all those months ago the first planet was at least somewhere you could roam, even if you had to seek shelter at night or "high noon".
I restarted 10 times and this happened on each occasion, so I'm assuming this is part of the game now - might give it another go when I've got some more patience.

i was initially put off by this and also restarted about 10 times to try and get a decent planet...to no avail. But even as someone who has pretty much never played this type of game before, i didn't find it too difficult to complete the initial 'missions' to then fix my space craft and get off the first planet. So definitely stick at it...i'm rubbish at games and managed it fine.

I enjoy the creative mode more than normal mode :D

Didn't realise that by default your game is online so I had a mini panic when some random turned up in my game. Turned it off and continue enjoying it solo, going to actually try get to the centre this time.

I've been following people's comments on this game since launch with interest. I held off buying because of all the negative feedback. I own a Ps4 pro and an Xbox one X, so yesterday I purchased it for the X as I'm currently on holiday and wanted a new game. It kept me playing all day yesterday I was hooked. And I generally hate resource management building games, but there's something different about this. So I didn't regret my purchase. It's quite intuitive too, not too difficult to get started. I fixed the ship and got off the planet and now I'm on a frozen one with dinosaurs? Having found a signal. Could be a master piece if they keep adding to it. I like it so far.

I'm seeing a LOT of this after the latest patch.
Textures remaining low resolution and blurry and the "hd" textures not appearing.
Happens on the ground, rocks, plants, ships... everything it seems.

Anyone else?

Tip: load up with missions from the mission agent, loads of the missions overlap, meaning you only have to complete them once.

For instance, I had 3 missions, 'kill 8/22/30' creatures. I killed 30, got the reward from all 3 missions.
Creatures I killed were actually the swarm that comes out of the sand when you destroy a whispering egg, I just stood on the top of a building an blasted them with the mining beam.

So I've got a freighter now and I found an A class fighter on a planet . I fixed up the fighter so it's flight worthy then flew using my old C class fighter back to my freighter, then I tried to call my new fighter it tells me can't land here. Why?

Fill your C class fighter with launch fuel. Can you summon the A class now?

I've solved it . I brought the freighter closer to the planet and it automatically done it for me.

I'm bored now.
Part way through the base building bit. I need to craft an item and to do so requires me to craft two other items first, which each require crafting and or farming of other items, and so on and so on. I got so confused what I needed I rage quit and deleted the game.
Needed to be a way of tracking a recipe, and also stop making some of them so complicated. I don't mind looking for a few items but when you need 10s of different hard to find items to make 1 of something I really can't be arsed.
