No Man's Sky - Procedural space game

Very nice, I hope I get a green one next, I've been on a red one and it would make a nice change from all the red!

How's the fauna ?

Cheers,

To be honest I don't do that much exploring, I land have a look around visit a few places and head on my way again. Visited dozens of planets and have come across a few green ones, that being the nicest one so far.

Most of the time it tends to be barren worlds, just can't wait to see what the next planet looks like :)

I tend to look for a black hole within 600 light years and head straight for it, as the the black holes are always next to planets in that solar system I have a quick explore before I head through it.

He just comes across as an arrogant ****. It's hardly surprising it's turned out this way.

I think his quaint "British awkwardness" act had gone a long way for him in his strategy of diminishing the scrutiny of his most vague answers, so it seems to me anyway from the youtube compilation videos. It seems mock embarrassed gurning whilst appearing to confirm, or at least fail to deny, major game elements in the most non-committal fashion possible does in fact work.

Well now that Hello Games have backtracked on paid DLC maybe they'll just charge for all of the stuff they stripped out of the final release.

Wait until it halves in price and they add more content , some people are saying they took a lot out before launch.

You might as well stay there, it's not as if there's anything different to do on other planets.

Aside from the window dressing its not as if it is different anywhere - on foot you are always approx. 2 minutes jet pack from yet another (?) symbol and whatever direction you go the game will generate the same content.

52 hours into this game & last night I ended up walking 35 minutes away from my ship.

I'm still considering this.

Is it worth getting at the moment?
I don't play online so I'm not bothered about meeting other people but I am put off about Hello Games not actually sticking to what they say.

Is it a glitchy mess?
Will I have to rely on the mod community to fix everything?

better off buying pacman mate, more depth to that game. It's 40 jibs I'll never see again that's for sure ;)

I kid of course but this game is absolutely abysmal, void of any professionalism at all, it's a flipping mobile game at heart it really is..it's so basic and boring, what you do in the first minute is nothing different than what you'll be doing in the 100 hour

Even through the grief this game has received, I am very interested in it. However, my PC has a 2500K i5 and 8GB ram with a 760GTX. Would the game run with that spec? - assuming it didn't do anything odd on install/startup. Just on "enough grunt" to run it.

I assume you've picked up on it by now but unless you actually want the long walk back you should be able to find an anomaly within 2 minutes where you can call your ship to you using the facility or a random bollard like looking thing (with a bypass chip).

I would think so since your cpu is stronger than mine but im on a 780, i can play at 50/50 high/medium no problem, also you can get mods to remove shadows which add a good 10-20% FPS.

I think a mix of low and medium would probably work, if not get some mods to remove features from here:
