No Pre Order or Official UK Price on the GTX 1080

I understand the first wave of "founders edition" will be $100 more than the third party 1080s... So will that mean the reference ones in uk will be £100 more also?

So would that put the uk founders edition to £699? I bloody hope not!

Any news on the third party cards?

Or does anyone know if there is a NDA date for manufacturers. I will be eyeing an evga 1080 (non reference or founders or whatever you want to call it)

Ryan from pc perspective had mentioned that he has spoken to AIB partners and the time frame is roughly 2 weeks which will fly by before we know it :D

2 weeks is nothing in the grand scheme of things, but there will be many that can't wait and will push the buy button on reference to get the 1080 sooner. This while still knowing it's likely the custom cards will run cooler, have a higher boost clock and be able to maintain clocks better without throttling.

It's just strange that USA know thier prices but the UK seems almost secretive.

Its really common with all electronics really. HQ/USA might not even set the rice until quite close to launch of the product once they have a final handle on production costs, market conditions, estimated user feedback, prediction currency exchange rates. the price for the US gets set perhaps a few weeks before launch but maybe closer. Different regions around the world will then have to work independently to calculate the local cost based on local taxes and advertising rules.

For example in the US you can advertise a price without sales tax but in Europe the price needs VAT but VAT varies by country. And then there are additional exchange rate questions and prediction of forex rates.
