............and, because of his advanced age, by the 4th film the story is yet another "Bond forced out of old age retirement" style film with a lead actor too old and who should have stopped at just 3 films aged 45. Instead he'll join the 50+ club like -

Never Say Never Again - Connery 53
A View to a Kill - Roger Moore 52
Bond 25 - Daniel Craig 51

Should we get started on a script then? I always thought Bond on a luxury cruise liner would have made a good story, some kind of billionaire using the cruise liners to smuggle weapons or something. Bond goes aboard does all the dinner and casino stuff then ventures down into the ship later to uncover the secrets. His Navy background obviously coming into play, much henchmen action and people thrown overboard etc. Would make a good section of the film. Arriving in port he follows the goods, finds out the master plan to overthrow the Carrabin islands by a communist militia or whatever and saves the day.

Why do they think they are special? The cinemas will be gone if this carries on. I'm currently happy enough, and feel safe enough to go and support them, but they is nothing on to watch other than old films and there's only.sonmany times my ears can endure Tenet.

Cinemas need adapting really (yes someone will have to pay) so as to be able to screen movies in a more suitable setting for distancing. Though personally I'd rather just pay a little bit more and get it on itunes or Amazon, etc.
 
Probably caused by new lock-down rules in eu, and, maybe, tenet takings, 40M USA versus 280M joker in first month;
but, if they show no films, cinemas will be less popular/die
 
There's rumours that this decision has had a knock on effect (predictably) for Cineworld and closures are imminent due to the industry being unviable.

Well, for a start they have the latest Bond movie to release, so that makes them rather more special than anyone else no? What a strange comment :confused:

This. I can't see many companies in other industries deciding to release a product for 1/4 of its sale value now rather than wait to maximise profit. It's a reality I'm afraid.

Studios have always had a fractured relationship with cinemas, just look at the willy waving that happened as soon as the first movies went to pvod earlier this year. It's very complicated..
 
Piracy must still be an issue, if they had opened, and , it's a good film, people will eventually see it there anyway, unless ....
